Hacking USB Loader works but freezes often - forces me to hard reset

I am using configurable USB and all the games work but 1 out of every 6 or 7 times i load a game, the wii will freeze causing me to reset the wii but unplugging the power. What could be the problem? Is it the usb hard drive I'm using? It is kind of cheap but still - just checking.

would updated to the latest config usb loader help?

Updating can't hurt, but you said you are unplugging the Wii?

Will it not shut off by holding the power button in for 5 secs (like a PC)?

I assume you have taken note of whether it is a particular game?

What cIOS are you running, and what cIOS are you launching the game under?

I find cIOS 222 rev 4 to be the best for USB Hard Drive compatibility (mine at least).
