Hacking USB Loader... my turn ;)

If somebody wants it, I have a 16:9 V6.7 version with proper bg and matching config.txt right here:

You know where to put the files, if not, check first post....

What you need is the covers, but in 120x225 to work with this 16:9 version.
Go find them and resize yourself

I'll have a look at putting language select in the confirmation/cover download screen.
You'll find the background picture in the rar-file. It's called bg.png. You know where to place it.

The same as above applies to the covers... I'll try to find a automatic resizing tomorrow.

Great version! One question: Will the downloaded cover be resized for 16x9?

I agree with WiiShizzza, this and the 4x3 mod version should be developed further.

6.6 was working fine for me.

6.7 worked fine for one game. When I tried to load another game, it tried to download my covers again and code dumped.

I might be releasing the final version tomorrow instead. Tomorrow is the deadline to file tax and I haven't started yet lol

Before you change too much maybe have a look at oggzee new v8 cfg loader. He has a very similar settings menu but uses up/down to select options and left/right to change them, you could take his source for that part and keep yours for the download covers and boot game. That way you wouldn't have to make a list of what all the buttons do, and make the menu a bit more intuitive

I did some searching and couldnt turn up the issue Im having with WiiShizza's USB loader v6.7... I launch it from HBC and when it starts it cuts communication with my wii-mote. I try re-syncing, but just flashes and turns off. I tried inserting the flash drive in before I start the program and after it starts [when its counting down], but still same thing. Im not sure what's causing this.. really hope this isnt posted anywhere else [like I said, I searched (for 3 days now)] as I hate reading the same posts over and over just as all of you do. It takes so much longer to search for anything on here now that there are usbloader threads flooding the form. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I gave it a shot, and got GC controller working on the latest 6.7 source from the OP.

I can see that it's still a lot of buggy, and it only supports GC Controller (I don't know how to do both controllers or more at once, lol), but I guess it's a good start for someone who never coded anything on the Wii, heh. I just had to change a few things on wpad.h, wpad.c and menu.c. Let me know if you want the source.


Oh, and controls are:
Start = HOME
L/R = Minus/Plus
X = 1 / Y = 2

And the rest are the same (A = A, etc).

Would be a little more straight forward don't ya think? It would also clean up all the button labels needed on that screen, look a bit sleeker.

Using this loader I get a code dump when starting every game, yet the official 1.4 loader works fine. I'm on CIOS v9 btw.

Anyone know the cause?

I think it is your flash drive is not supported by usb loader. I have the some problem when I try to use a flash drive. When I change back to HDD, the problem is gone.

Okay, code dump for me seemed to be caused by the problem with the covers.

Originally, (6.5 and lower I think) the directory was SD:usbloader/images/, because if you put the first slash in it wouldn't work.

Now, it seems to be fixed...when I changed the directory to SD:/usbloader/images/, it stopped searching for covers and stopped code dumping.

I've been using this homebrew pack and I love it, together with WBFS Manager & Channel Creator, they are amazing!
I was wondering if is posible to install the Channel Shortcuts directly from the Wii instead of: Unpluging the USB, conecting it to the PC, run the Channel Creator, copy the file to the SD Card and finaly install it with Wad Manager.

Or had multiple partitions on the sd card? I really have no idea just trying to find features we don't have yet, which is nearly impossible because we have so damn many lol

(I bet alot of the other loaders use your source to add new features) Like I said I would never use that feature anyways.
