@blackb0x that didnt work
Gotta give you a D- for error reporting there bud, lol 😂

Did you successfully install cios as linked above and the original issue persists? Or were you unable to install cios as directed?

If you share another fresh syscheck that too would tell us whether u installed cios correctly

Cheers!

I miss Nintendont and USB Loader GX updates, they are very good, but they still need improvement, especially USB Loader GX that Kirby still doesn't work and other games like Tomb Raider
That kirby works if you have a txt file in your SD or HDD (it's a txt with many codes, I think someone put it here) and the Tomb Raider games also works for me. There is one that doesn't work for me, that's Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands. It always gives me a black screen when starting it but in other loaders it works fine except this.

@Amuro-san About Kirby: Try with the file attached to this blackb0x post: https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/post-9544354. Or check that the file you currently use does have the Europe and Japan codes. Put the file in both your SD and HDD, just in case. Also, make sure that you have latest cIOS version installed (d2x-v10beta52) and using base 56 to run the game.

And be completely safe about your games being clean rips (research good dumps MD5 hashes). This applies to @totakeke95 issues as well.

I saw here that you only have the files of the US version, I want the European one that I can't find anywhere
I uploaded it here a while ago but I'll reupload it again. This one should work since it is for the European version (Kirby's Adventure).

It would be nice if someone could keep the file together with the US code as they are different codes for each version of the game.

Hey @Badablek can you please build a tab mod based on the latest usblgx version? 🙏

@cjuni the latest usblgx revision is like, 3 years old...I compiled it for myself...3 years ago
If you want it, no problem, but it won't change your life, and I think the latest unofficial build which is still maintained (can't remember developer's name) would be much better for you (I don't know if there is some kind of tabmod in it, BTW)

ps : only boot.dol (revision 1271/1272)

If I remember correctly :
  • main one uses IOS58 as primary IOS
  • the one named "249" use cIOS249 as primary cIOS (like it always was, before dev decided to change it to 58 for compatibility reason, which I fully understand, but I didn't want)
edit : removed, old build

sorry, i was referring to the unofficial version that is currently being maintained.

I really like the tab mod and would like to take advantage of the improvements of this version. If possible I would be grateful. =)

@cjuni Here it is. I had to tweak a little bit "StartUpProcess.cpp" in order to be able to compile it. I tried it quickly, with Wii, Gamecube and Wiiware. Everything seems to work fine.
binary (boot.dol) + sources provided.

A little reminder : this build is NOT, in any way, official nor supported in any way by the official developer(s). So, if something is not working as intended, don't even try to bother the official developer(s) about it, just wait until a tab build is officially made !

Hi! Today I started to Softmod my Fiends old Wii, everything is fine, main menu looks good, but the USB loader menu looks blurry. Theme should be fine, it's a well known theme. Is there a setting in USB loader gx to change menu resolution or something?

Hi @blackb0x. I hope all is well with you. thanks for your work maintaining usblgx. maybe the tabs could be added as a feature in the next versions?
I've mentioned this before, but I don't want to add it as an option as the mod is incompatible with most themes and it doesn't support the 4:3 aspect ratio.

In a future update I might clean up the UI and make it easier to quickly switch between systems, but I wouldn't use tabs to do that.

Theme should be fine, it's a well known theme.
Does it look blurry with the default theme? If it does then maybe you could try adjusting the loaders overscan settings.

Yes, it's the same with default theme. What should I try in overscan settings? They are default.
I forgot to ask, but how is the Wii connected to the TV? It matters because if you're using a HDMI converter then the overscan settings most likely won't do much for you.

I have my Wii connected to a 1080p TV via the official component cables and when I start the loader it acts as if overscan is enabled, so I need to set the loaders overscan settings to -19 so that everything fits on my screen correctly and it looks a little sharper.

If you use the carousel view and press the home button on your Wiimote then it'll help you to align everything correctly so that the loader looks like this instead of something like this.
