any way to make usbloader gx have the settings in config folder instaed of usbloader_gx folder like how it use to be?you can move the file manually in the SD:/config/ folder and it will be read/write from here. It's just that the dol path is the default folder used to create the .cfg if they are not found anywhere else.

Thanks for your tests!

You are welcome

I'm not testing everything myself either, we have other users reporting issues on the beta thread. But yeah, I guess I'm running more GX than actually playing games

Dexter is also testing all the USB3 and 4k sector drives. Thanks to you for your help

QUOTE(satanishere @ Jul 1 2011, 12:44 AM) I have good news and bad news. The good news is on v2.2 Japanese is finally working for me. The bad news is that now I constantly get the "could not initialize network" error message when trying to update anything. replicated on 2 different wiis.

edit: if I revert back to v2.1 1080 and the network works fine.

what should I do?
Do you have Auto-init network enabled?
try disabling it or wait a few second before trying to make an action requiring network access, it may already be trying to initiate it.

I didn't try it yet (the Rodried Mod of Hermes cIOS) so I don't know.
I tested the dual USB port option with Hermes 5.1 and it worked fine, except after playing for a while and returning to the loader (with "return to" enabled), then it tried to switch on both HDD but only one worked.
Maybe Rodries version has a fix for that.

If you don't have Hermes yet, just install rodries mod instead.
If you have Hermes 5.1 already installed, you can try it and use it if you don't encounter any problem, else just update as Dimok said it's recommended.

Sneek video mode patch is the patch function used by Sneek. It's included for completeness, some games may require this mode.

This does'nt funtion the way it should.
Example is MOTO GP. NTSC
Game is able to work with video patch +Sneek all in 480P with CFG loader.
With GX it's not possible. alway reverting to 480i ( 60 hz ) or 5761 ( 50hz ), no matter what setting.
Please fix this, this game is MUCH more enjoyable in 480 P.

I did have auto-init enabled. I just tried it again and it seems to be working fine on both wiis. I don't know what happened.

With davebaol, dimok and oggzee working together (well... dimok mostly lol) they were finally able to make everything work with the 4k sector size drives in both GX and CFG if you use d2x v6 cIOS. They now fully support WBFS, NTFS and FAT32. I'm not sure if we're still working on EXTx or not... but I'm ready to do further tests on that, too

With the hours spent on this, I got a little taste of what you must go through all the time. Thanks again for all your hard work and devotion, Cyan!

So... is there anyway to use wiinnertags in the 2.2 version?
I found the wiinnertag option on the loader, but it's still not working.

I have a problem with the loader. It loads up ok, and i lets me backup my games, but the problem is that when i try to launch a game (click on the disc) it just exits to the homebrew channel. Can anyone help?

I found the wiinnertag option on the loader, but it's still not working.Did you changed the key (your password) in the created "Example" file, or do you think it will magically recognize you and update your account without first asking your account information?

You have to create the example files, enable winnertag, enable Auto-init network, and edit the winnertag.xml
Note that the created file is only an example file, you can use multiple website at the same time like this :

HTML

Replace the key="xxxxxxxx" with your own gamertag account's password.

What is your cIOS slot and version? (you can see the cIOS information on the Credit page in the settings).

Hey guys:

Back with another problem. I've tried to get Wii Sports Resort working. I've searched & found possible fixes for this game but nothing really pertaining to USB Loader GX. I've used the alternative.dol(RTZE01) & placed it at the root of the sd card. I also copied it to the USB Loader GX folder as well.

The application is still asking for the alternate.dol file. Says it's not found on sd card. I do have 002 Error Fix on as well. I can't even get the game to load at all. Goes right back to USB Loader GX main menu. What am I doing wrong with the fix mentioned above? Is the fix different for USB Loader GX? Thanks! BTW, I'm running v2.2 of USB Loader GX with rev17.

If you update your cios to d2xv6 (mod mii does this easily) then the loader no longer needs alt dol - this may be the issue as all the testing has been on these cios's as they block ios reload (COD 3, Sam and Max etc now work as they should)

You might have an incorrect alt dol setting.
I guess you are on "alt dol drom SD/USB" which requires that you extract the wanted dol to the "DOL folder" defined by the "user defined folders" in your settings.

The best choice with alt dols is to load the alternative dol directly from the game iso.
Select "Alt dol from disc" then click on the next line in the game setting to select the dol offset, you will be prompt with a list of dol present on the game iso, select the one you want : player.dol !

For sport resort, and all wiimot+ games, you need to watch the wiimote+ video fully one time, then all the wiimote+ game can boot without alt dol.

Main.dol = the game, redirect and launch player.dol if you never watched the video, else launch the game normally.
player.dol = the alt dol to use only one time ever (not one time per game).

If you have d2x v6+ CIOS, you won't need to set alt dols at all, it will boot and reboot dols correctly.

Thanks! I'll take your information & see what happens. I'll report back later!

I compiled R1100 and its working fine.
I tried 222/224 Hermes 5.1 mod Rodries to test both USB support,, and its working too - nice!
The problem is I need to use 222 or 224 to Boot GX. So, if Im using 222[38] and if I need to cange cIOS to 224[57] to play Black Ops, using Port 1, then I get black screen (I waited around 1min and nothing - too many times).
But, if I change GX to boot 224 then I reboot it, and reset game to use global (this time 224), I can GX loads Black Ops fine.
So, using Port 1, I cant change cIOS.
Is there any solution to this?
thx

When debugging, I tried to reload into Waninkoko and d2x cIOS, so black screen was normal.
I didn't try to reload another Hermes cIOS to launch the game.

I'll check it, I don't know if/when it can be fixed.

for waninkoko this should be normal once no Port1 support.
But its weird when changing to another Rodries Mod.

1 more thing, if I click HB browse icon, I get code dump error too.
installed cIOS:
222[38]Rodries
223[37+38]v4
224[57]Rodries
248[38]d2x6
249[56]d2x6
250[57]d2x6

i hope you can fix this,, cause GX is getting better and better.

thx

please post the code dump information
(the one with --> xxx --> xxx -->)

It will help find the problem.
It could be because one of your homebrew has malformed meta.xml, or maybe an incompatible folder name?

I don't have code dump with homebrew browser, and I launched it a lot of time.
I have a lot of page and homebrew, all are loading fine.

sry,, I told HB browser but its HB Launcher in USB Loader GX,, a little mistake

Just wanted to say that rev 1100 now is able to detect my Seagate FlexGO 1GB USB 3.0 hard drive every time. It used to work when the Wii was first booted, but fail on subsequent attempts. Has the channel forwarder been updated with the new hard drive detection scheme? I've been putting USB Loader GX on a SD card to get around the issue.

@cyan,,, I fixed code dump. I delete all meta.xml and created all them again.
Now code dump is gone
wink.gif

thx

BTW, any news about Port1 and changing IOS fix?

thx a lot
