Also, what Seagate drives have you been using?
Thanks...
thanks giantpune, ext3 is also perfect for me!giantpune said:@dzv80
I would recommend that you avoid ext4. ext3 SHOULD be fine. the reason i say this is that the ext library is ported by dimok from another one. i used the windows version of this library some time ago. i gave it write access to an ext4 HDD and it destroyed everything... completely wiped it out.
it doesnt matter how well dimok ported the library. if it still had this bug in the original version, then there probably still is the bug in the wii version. there is no read-only option, so if you ever do something that makes the loader want to write to the HDD, there is no stopping it.
i have tested out the library writing to ext3 and it worked fine. it wrote several GB, i verified that data in my PC and it was as expected. actually playing the games, there is no noticeable difference. speed is the same, no crashes. the real benefit of using ext3 is simply on the PC side. the big downside of using ext3 on the wii is that this library is PAINFULLY slow to read the bitmap. it will read this bitmap on the first attempt to write any data. so, for the loader to write even a 1KB file, i have to wait 1-3 minutes ( for a 500GB partition ). after the bitmap has been read, there is no waiting and it is fast.
thanks, I'll try it!giantpune said:@zdv80
the bitmap is read at the first attempt to write to the HDD. im not sure if this involves deleting a file. but it definitely includes writing a file ( ripping a game, saving a config file, downloading a cover ). there is not the huge lag if you only use the partition for reading operations ( necessary ones for starting the loader and loading a game ).

same here but i thought if fix SSB.B problemQUOTE said:Then open both your old and new config files, and report the changes from the new settings in the old one and replace the new files with the old+modified one.
That's how I did it, and it worked fine.
the name of the new one is GXGameStatistics.cfg
the name of the old one is GXGameFavorites.cfg
but when I copy the GXGameFavorites.cfg and past it in GXGameStatistics.cfg it will rest count to zero
so is it becuse I copy all then past it all and the new one has change it's ways ?
Since I did this my games don't work properly : for Super Smash Brawl for instance it says "Please insert a disc" or something randomly in the introduction video. For Mario Sports Mix the game just freeze at any times.QUOTE said:Reselect your favorites and play the games til the count is up. unsure.gif
i think it will be that way

see the content of the file, do not just rename the filename.
the content has change, you need to modify 2 things inside the old file to match the new format.
I opened it with notpad then copied the content
but add them 1 by 1 is tiring
I pass this and do it the old fashion way hhhhhhh
as for this QUOTESince I did this my games don't work properly : for Super Smash Brawl for instance it says "Please insert a disc" o
