u may have changed the settings, it sounds like before you had it set to copy only the game partition, and now u might be getting a 1:1 rip

(fyi, 6.93GB for SSBB sounds right to me too)

Thanks for the information.
I guess I should poke around before I say anything

I'll see what there is for me to see right after I see how big MP3 is when I install it with Wiiflow.

Oh my gosh (calm oh my gosh mind you), My colon and parenthesis smiley has been transformed into yellow smiley with a santa hat.

@mdmachine. if sounds like either a corruption in the banner sound or the disc image for that game. try turning off the volume for the banner sounds and start the game. or delete the disc image from your sd card.

lastly, you can try to turn on the quickboot setting and skip that whole screen.

Hi all, I've successfully modded my Wii to 4.2 using xzxero's guide and had USB Loader GX and the forwarder up and running the other day but am now receiving a black screen when trying to load as either a forwarder or through HBC. Using the guide, it had me install cIOS222[38+37]-v4.wad as well as cIOS249-v17.wad.

My USB Loader GX is version 1.0 and I installed it using this guide which had me install cIOS38rev14 and cIOS36rev10 to IOS249.

I noticed reading through old posts that cIOS222 and cIOS249 were the two used by USB Loader GX, so if someone could point me in the right direction to fix this black screen from here it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I'm not providing enough information. Please let me know what else is needed. Thanks!

I had a black screen before and you need to update cIOS 222 if you use it because it works.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused by this. I installed cIOS222[38+37]-v4 during the mod. Is this not the version I need?

By having a quick browse through that guide, it doesnt day anything about the .dol file.

download the latest .dol file here, rename it to boot.dol, and place it in /apps/usbloader_gx/ of your SD card or usb drive

Thanks for all the help guys. I have no idea what the problem was, but I redid the process of modifying to 4.2 and this time I excluded the install of cIOS38rev14 and cIOS36rev10 since I'm not really sure what those do and since the guide to modifying has me install cIOS222[38+37]-v4 and cIOS249-v17 which seems to be the updated IOSes. It is working flawlessly again.

So now I should dl the r899.dol and rename it to boot.dol to place in the apps > usbloadergx folder?

Precisely on point.

The disc image was corrupted, all set now. :-)

Yes. Make sure you put boot.dol into usbloader_gx folder

Don't forget the underscore

it probably work in the other folder too
tongue.gif
It will work with no underscore ie. "/apps/usbloader gx/boot.dol" if loading from the HBC, but it has to be in "/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol" for the channel, and also possibly for updates through GX

What are you guys coding this with? i was thinking of checking out the source and maybe having a play around with it

You probably mean Forwarder instead of channel
The forwarder loads the dol from the update path (which you can change in the loader settings) so it can load from usbloadergx too if thats your update path

haha yes, i was thinking forwarder as i was typing it

But doesnt the update path have to be set before it looks in another folder other than default? so you would have to either edit the config file, or load usbloader with the boot.dol in usbloader_gx first, change it then move it. i havnt tried this and barely use the forwarder as it gives me problems so im not sure

You can either change the config file directly, but if you don't, you won't need to boot it from usbloader_gx first, you just boot it from the new folder with the HBC
