So I installed 222/223 v4 awhile back. Ever since I can't get any Guitar Hero games to load. I have tried every loader on every setting imaginable. I had v3 working just fine, could get them to load. I use USB Gx primarily, so I understand that v3 is no longer supported. Just to make it more confusing I can get all Rock Band games to load just fine. Any ideas? Could use a helpful hand. Thanks in advance!

Make sure:

- You installed 222 rev 4 as 38 merge 37
- You didn't have any gamecube stuff plugged in when you installed 222
- You are using the latest revision of GX
- You delete your gxglobal.cfg and gxgamesettings.cfg files from the config folder on your SD/USB
- You set your global cIOS to 222 and set your global 002fix to ANTI (249 is not needed for ANYTHING anymore!)

you did all of that in that exact order and it's still not working?

****edit****

delete the 00000001 folder from your SD card and then try your 222 install again.

Look no offense but I'm not a n00b at this. I know about the GC stuff and the 000001 folder and the .cfg's. Like I said in my post I have tried all the obvious stuff. (Why was 222v3 support phased out anyway?) I again appreciate your help but any more ideas out there?

You never said you tried "all the obvious stuff" in your original post and if you had...all the obvious stuff for you is probably not the same as it is for me. You came in and said "(insert random noob issue) doesn't work and i've tried everything" without giving any information such as; GX revision, System Menu version, how you got to that system menu, how exactly you had 222 rev 3 installed (IOS used for the install, merge?), how you were trying to install 222 rev 4 (IOS used for install, merge?), what exactly you've tried so far... No offense, but people who can't get something to work and then provide no information when asking for help tend to be noobs. So how else should one respond other than to point out all the noob fixes?

222 rev 3 support was phased out because rev 4 is more stable and has better HDD support among other fixes.

USB Gx: r811
System Menu: 4.2u via Wanin's Safe Updater
222 v3: 38 merge with 37
222 v4: 38 merge with 37 & recommended, 249 for install
I've tried all loaders with 249, 222, 223; 002 fix on, off, anti. Going to go back and install v3 and try Config USB.

Wanin's "Safe" Updater isn't all that safe....
Try running zektor's from here and see if it properly installs all IOS.
Then, (I know you've done it already) reinstall your cIOS again.
And remember, you want cIOS 222 rev 4 installed as 38 merge 37.

Let me know if you're still having an issue after this.

okay, then i'm going to suggest using anytitledeleter to delete cIOS 222 and 223

then make sure there is no 00000001 folder on your sd

then try to install them one more time

If you've done everything I've said over the past two days there is no reason why it should not be working.

Just to reiterate...you're using 222 globally right? Not just for GH5? You shouldn't need to have ANYTHING set to use 249.

If you change your global cIOS from 249 to 222 you have to restart loader for it to take effect. You can't just change the global cIOS and then go straight to a game. The loader needs to boot using 222.

My final suggestion now...is to do the following in order:
- reinstall 222 rev 4 as 38 merge 37
- delete both your gxglobal.cfg and gxgamesettings.cfg files
- start GX, go to the global settings, change Boot IOS to 222, return to the main GX screen
- restart the loader (go to system menu and start the loader again)
- try to load your game

If that doesn't work for you I've got nothing left to offer.

I tried no luck. Thank you for the help. I guess I'll keep trying. Is it possible there could be a problem with either ISO 249, 37, or 38. 249 because thats what is used for install. 37 and 38... cuz I don't know what they are originally used for. I even got USB GX r747 and installed 222 v3, and it didn't work. Seems there is something else going on then just 222.

it doesn't touch nor read from the 37/38 that's on your system. It downloads what it needs to install. You can try using any trucha-signed IOS to do the install though.

For the life of me i cant figure out how to get animal crossing city folk ntsc to work on the rev811 of the loader. I am on system menu 4.1 and have followed everything in this guide http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901&hl=hermes for my current configuration. The game loads but gets stuck on the bus loading screen. I have tried to read around and find a fix but i cant seem to find anything helpful.
