Hi there guys, I think ive found a bug. Ive been playing MetroidPrime3 for a while now, but since I updated the loader, loading it with ocarina gives me a stack dump.

Any ideas guys?

you may have been using a rev below r709 and recently updated to the latest in wich case ocarina has been broken for a while and you need to use a rev below r709 to continue using it

Have either of you checked out the issues at the source page? There's a fix there....

Sorry, but what do you mean by the source page?

The source page. This forum isn't the base of this loader. The google code page is. Issues should be posted there, just be sure to not repost an issue that's already there.

ocarina has never been broken for me. I have used almost all revisions from the late 600's till latest and ocarina works.

As I said in another post, the only problem arises if I don't use the loader to download the cheat textfile. As long as u use the loader to download ur cheat txtfiles and to create the gct file, u will be ok.
If ocarina crashes it's because there are too many lines in ur textfile, in that case just transfeer ur txtfile to ur pc and delete all the comment lines. Save it and transfer it back and then it will work. Of course there is still a limit to the number of codes u can have. For ssbb+ use the snapshot hack to load the 1000+ codes!!!

I have over 200 games and have cheats working on all games that have codes available, which is quite a few games. Fixed any problems just by doin as I described above.

Has there been any major differences the last 3 revs or so?
Before I was able to play Metroid Trilogy with the alt dol features, even though I had to rechoose each time I wanted to play since it couldnt save altdol names with underscore...

Anyway now updater to 730 I get a nice screen when wanting to choose altdol as to what game I wanted to choose the dol for. All fine there I choose Prime (the first) and click to choose dol. All fine here to it saves without troubles but I get black screen when trying to start...

Using rev14 and on 4.0E. But as said I didnt have "any" troubles before playing...
Something is fishy...

Bjerlk

Edit:
Strikes me now though that I didnt clear sd card of configs before...

could you report back after you've refreshed your config files?

*Edit*
This has just been tested and is working so a config refresh should be all that's required.

Just as a update... I got it to work but it realy had something more that was wierd...
Choosing the game and changing the method for starting it to alt dol and the correct one and after that start the game just gave me black screen. But starting it after a restart as it saves the choosen dol there is no trouble to start it directly. Just seemed to not work the same time as I changed altdol boot...

That seemed to be it... Was just "pure" luck i accidently started it without changing dol or looking at it since I wanted to be sure what dol is used. The once I started without looking it started smoothly.,.. Wierd... Will investigate more into this if needed...

P.S. I have to raise you all that program and work with this excellent loader. Its about the greatest there is. I salute you and honor you! Great work! D.S

Before I started it without 002 fix and now I was forced to use it as defaul

As of r730, the number of lines on the file, comment or otherwise, should not affect loading (aside from the 255 enabled code line limit). The loader can now support viewing up to 1000 lines of codes and the txtcheat reading function has been improved to correctly read the comment lines. Snapshot method is still required to play SSBB+ but code dumps should be corrected.

I've also never had an issue with Ocarina.

Same here, Ocarina has always been working.
You can download the file, even edit it on your PC and it will work.
The Ocarina crash when there were many lines has been fixed in r730 comment lines shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Here is a pack of 4 dols of USB Loader GX.
This is only for people who have the black screen issue and want to help.
This is not a fix, only a test.
Try each one, deleting all your configuration files before each new dol you try (this is as a precaution, it may work without it but that way we're sure the configuration is not the problem)

Please report your results on the issue page here

Important: even though the latest revisions have been supporting both unix/windows txt files for a while, you should only use UNIX type files while testing those dols.
The Super Mario Galaxy NTSC txt at geckocodes.org uses unix newlines for example.

Keep up the good works guys.

Let's hope for a stable version when saving the config while using ALT DOL !

What is unstable about it?

The loader freeze and some point when searching for different DOL.
Sometime before it show me on of the DOL available (Metroid Trilogy), sometime after selecting one and want to save.

I try with the background music ON/OFF, it doesn't make a different, however, i have to try with the latest version available.

Configurable USBLoader has no problem with this.

Have to try FLOW also.

Thanks

This should be corrected in revision 730 and up.

Hi i've posted in this thread a few times now and i just realized i have never actually said thanks to the coders.........
ohmy.gif
so here goes.....

THANKS!!! I love this loader. It's great, does everything i want...well almost! lol

The one thing i really want from this loader is NAND Emulation for gamesaves. It must be possible cos theres already a version of neogamma that does it from USB or SD.........
I know the coders have said on the source pages that it will probably never happen but i can hope, and who knows if a few more people get on board and ask nicely
wink.gif
then maybe it will happen

So to save the boxart covers to your HDD and not the SD card you need to have a small FAT 32 partition? The game can't save the covers to a WBFS partition? How would I set this up?

I just updated to r734 and I still cannot load more than one game without rebooting the console. Is there a fix for this? Western Digital Passport 320gb with one wbfs partition only. Cios r14, 4.0U.

is there a step I missed that explains this behavior?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid post but I have been looking for an answer to this and I can't find one.

Something happens to the res when I play a game, like the edges are cut off, it looks like it is zoomed in or something and looks terrible and obvously you can't see the edges. This only happens in game, everything up to it, the wii menu, gui and etc are fine. When you press Home in game it does the same thing, you can see the top of the wiimote on the bottom and that's it.

Any ideas of what could be the issue? I'd also add it is a PAL game on a NTSU wii.

Would it be possible to boot Gamecube backups through a USB Loader or is that not possible?

Not possible now, probably never will, USB feature is for the Wii, when you run NGC games on wii, the wii itself becomes a NGC, and loose all the wii features, and USB wasnt one of NGC possibilities. It MAY be possible via hardware mode, like connecting an HDD directly to the DVD I/O, but is too much trouble on my opinion.
