Sorry if this is a dumb question but it has never been a problem for me. Latest USB Loader GX, and I cannot get any of the covers to download for me. Not discs, not 3d artwork, nothing. I know I can just pull out my SD card and do it manually but I really liked this feature. Am I doing something wrong or is the image server just down or something? Been trying for a few days. All other updates (like updating the program) work fine so it's not my internet connection.

Please read through the thread before asking questions as many have been answered quite a few times already (within the last three pages).

The site GX downloads it's covers from is in the process of moving. It will be at least a week until everything will be back up and running again.

I have an Iomega Prestige portable hard drive with the filesystem NTFS.
USB loader GX cant find the hard drive, what custom IOSes do I need?
Do I have to format my portable harddrive? I watched this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyZYeP-68fA , so I cant have other files than wii isos and stuff on the harddrive if I want to use it for the wii?

Please help...

Here's a tutorial for you to check out.

Use WBFS Manager to format your blank partition to WBFS. The loader is not going to format the correct partition for you. It will only format a FAT32 partition.

Well I had! The intro on SSBB froze every time. So I went back to 13a and had no problems since.

It would have been smarter to install Hermes CIOS for SSBB and leave rev 14 for everything else.

i have Cios rev 14,is it safe to install the Hermes Cios & where can i find the latest rev ? thanks

So you already have a WBFS partition on your drive and the loader is not recognizing it? Which revision of the loader are you on?

The FAT32 partition is for running apps or storing settings/files on USB. Otherwise, it is available for whatever you want.

I have tried different usb loaders, usb gx (the latest I think), usb/sd loader 1.5 and 1.1 and when I tried now, the wad manager gives me this message: "[+] Initializing libfat, please wait... OK!
[+]Retrieving device contens, please wait... ERROR! (ret = -1)"
and I have no idea which IOS/custom IOSes I have installed right now I have tried different...

this is what it says about my hard drive in the compatibility list:
iomega Prestige Portable Hard Drive_____Not Tested_____Not Tested_____Works_____Worked right out of the box, Worked with WBFS manager 2.5._____0

(also thanks for bothering to help me...)

btw do i select 249 when i install the hermes cios ? & ios do i select 36 default or 37 merged with 36 ?

Further to the Hermes stuff with SSBB, I have cIOS 249 installed, when you install Hermes cIOS 222, does it replace the 249 or is it in addition to it?

Also I'm running ios 35

Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
Read the warning message and push A
Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select Use IOS36
Wait for download and installation to complete
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS60 merged with IOS36
IOS223 gives you an alternative option for merged IOS in this way. It is exactly the same as IOS222 otherwise.
It is unclear whether this is enough to get games like Rock Band going. Try merging with IOS37 instead if IOS60 doesn't work with you instruments.

since NO install instructions in the hermes cios from 0ldboy link i searched the net & found the above info & done it,i hope i did it right.

I did not include any instructions because everyone installs it differently. I'll type up my preference quick and throw it on there. Also, when installing, where it says DEFAULT is probably going to be the DEFAULT install setting

I install 222 as 37 merge 36 and then I install 223 as 38 merge 36. The 37/36 merge helps with the buggy multiplayer menu on The Conduit and with stuttering FMVs in a few other games. I really don't use 223 for anything but supposedly the 38/36 merge is for compatibility with rockband instruments.

222 does not replace 249. 222 installs as IOS222 while 249 installs as IOS249

when i installed the ios first option on the screen was select IOS249,does this mean it was installed as 249? also how do i change the ios for SSBB ?

the first screen is asking which IOS you want to USE for the install, not which IOS to install TO. No matter what you choose here, it will always install to 222 and never replace what you choose on the first screen.

To use 222 on a game, simply go into that game's individual settings and change the Boot IOS from 249 to 222.

OK, noob question here,

I'm going try to start compiling this on my own and was wondering if someone could give me a copy of the source as one pack instead of me downloading everything from the project page. I understand how to update the source once I have everything else, you just click on the revision and it gives you the select files that was revised, add it to the existing source, but I need a boost getting started with like the initial source and folder structure of my Devkitpro. I'm just learning please be patient with me.
Can I get some help ???

Yes, it is safe to do so. You can always install IOS right ove the top of previously installed IOS.
