huh? i am just trying to get more details on the situation before i make a decision on how i would like to setup my wii. what's wrong with that?

if i don't like the long load time i'll just stick to booting it from HBC. asking for people's experiences and preference here saves me time from testing it myself and having to uninstall the forwarder if i end up not liking it. isn't that what we are all here for? helping each other?

The fastest way to boot the loader is to install preloader, place the loader boot.dol in the root of your sd, from the preloader menu select install file, install the boot.dol, and set preloader to boot to the installed file.

Next time you start your Wii it will boot directly to USB Loader GX in 2-3 seconds at the most.

EDIT: Can we please get the battery icons back? Things 'appear' off-center with the way it is now, not to mention if a person boots directly to USB Loader GX... it would be nice to see how much juice is left in the remote.

You can see the batteries, by pressing the HOME button. They are on the EXIT/HOME Menu.

My forwarder doesn't work with 365. It used to work with the previous releases.

Do I have to rename the application folder or something?

If you haven't changed your forwarder there is no need to change any application folders. The official forwarder loads "SD:\apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol", as mentioned in the first post.

Key information would be what "previous releases" you're talking about, what forwarder you're using, and what you mean by "doesn't work".

It's a non-official forwarder, i've been using it since USB Ultimate Loader.

It had been working for 357 (last I used before 365) and all the others releases below 357 too. But now it sends me to the Homebrew Channel instead of the loader itself.

I haven't changed anything.

like Dulando my forwarder USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder.wad don't work with USB Loader GX-ULNR.wad

(the path is ok SD:\apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol)

So right now if you take the 365 .dol you have on your SD card and replace it with the 357 .dol, without touching anything else, everything works?

This is a different problem. The forwarder does not load the .wad channel. You need to get the latest .dol from the official site, rename it to boot.dol and put it in the directory you have above. If you're using the forwarder do not do anything with USB Loader GX-ULNR.wad.

yes USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder.wad make a new channel on my wii and load the boot.dol (rev361) in the directory "usbloader_gx" but it's slow for load usbloader
I thought it would launch the boot.dol (in the directory "usbloader_gx") when I click on the channel create with USB Loader GX-ULNR.wad
thank you for your help and sorry for the bad english

Forwarders take a little while to load .dols off the SD card. That's normal.

USB Loader GX-ULNR.wad, if you install it as a channel, gives the loader (I believe it's r327) its own stand-alone channel. Meaning it does not read any .dol from the SD card, because the .dol is built into the channel. This should load quicker I think, but isn't updated very often.

Or he could use preloader & install the dol with it & set preloader to boot to the installed file. Boots right to usbloader in 2-3 seconds or less from pressing power.

Download Here. For normal covers, they have to be 160x224, for 3d covers, just use the site default size. Create a folder, saving it in SD card. Open GXGlobal.cfg in SD:/config and modify cover_path = and disc_path = to the route of your covers and disks images' folder.

For example. I have my 3d covrs in "SD:/imagesGX/", so I put cover_path = SD:/imagesGX/ in GXGlobal.cfg.

where is the GXGlobal.cfg?

It wii generate by the loader automatically.

V366 is very responsive, the box images appear much faster. In sync with the text now. Seems better since battery meter was removed.
