Hacking USB Loader GX

The games that need the patching for disc based backup launching don't work in the usb loaders. Until this is changed if you patch a game to use another IOS or not doesn't change the compatibility at all.

Here's a incomplete and maybe partly incorrect list of games that require the patching for disc based backup launching:

Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune (maybe doesn't need the patching, 1 confirmation)
Boogie (not Boogie Superstar which doesn't need this)
Call of Duty 3
Far Cry Vengeance
FIFA 08
House of the Dead 2
Madden '07
Madden '08
Medal of Honor Heroes 2
Metal Slug Anthology
Metroid Prime 1 (3 doesn't need this!)
Mortal Kombat Armageddon
NBA Live '08
Obscure: The Aftermath (1 confirmation)
Pangya Golf With Style
Red Steel
Sam & Max Season 1
Splinter Cell Double Agent
SSX Blur
Super Swing Golf

I can confirm House of the Dead 2 doesn't work (from HotD 2 & 3 Returns), and also SSX Blur. Both NTSC-U.

Any clue about the usefullness of the cIOS 222 option?

Not very usefull I think.
Have read once that Super Mario Galaxy run better with 222 than 249 but only 1 person told this so...
If you don"t have problem with 249, use it.
Else, burn a DVD and play with Backup Launcher or use cIOSCorp

don't listen to this guy, chances are that if you ask a question, someone will be nice enough to answer it, or you'll run into a douchebag like this guy. We all know that it sucks to read through a few hundred pages looking for your answer and still not come up with it, trying to search and still not come up with it. Usually the fastest way is to ask and to hope that you'll run into someone helpful. The only stupid question is the one that you don't ask.

Some ppl say ios222 has a slightly enhanced compatibility with some games. Actually i would look at Hermes USB loader for detailed information. I never installed it so i can't give you a clear answer about all the features.

Congrats on the first official release guys!! Things are working smooth on my end! Anyone have any troubles with Broken Sword? My buddy put it onto his HD and the loader would start to boot up then give a code dump..is this normal?

Oh and also here is a usb loaderGX HBC icon i did up..I have the whole set to go along with it if anyone is interested..

That icon looks great! When you say set, do you mean like a lot of different icons in that style for different apps? If so, then I'm interested
