For some reason, 'Default,' (which is the closest thing that showed up when compared to the option you described,) actually shows the homebrew channel option... Any other ideas?
So I'm using an older version of USBLGX -- I haven't updated to any of the versions blackb0x has worked on. I love the new features, but it crashed on me when I tried it a few years ago. (I think related to a classic controller or 3rd party nunchuck?). I need to get back to the lab and figure that out!! It def might be fixed by now. Or maybe it had something to do with old settings files. I never figured it out.

But anyway, maybe that accounts for the difference!

Is there any way I can get my hands on the older version you're using, for the time being?

Also, do you know of any way to change what the 'default' setting shows?

Default Is the homebrew channel, so just change the Home Menu setting to Wii Menu if you don't want people to access the homebrew channel that way.
Right, but that takes people to the actual wii home menu... For some reason. Despite my Priiloader setup. Bizarre.

I just set Priiloader's Return to setting to Priiloader, booted back to USB Loader GX, locked the loader, selected Wii Menu, and that took me straight to Priiloader.

If you don't lock the loader then selecting Wii Menu will take you to the Wii system menu, since USB Loader GX doesn't allow Priiloader to override what you've selected while you've got full control.

Make sure Block Priiloader Override is set to ON in the parental controls section as well.

This setting existed long before I took over the project, and I think it's poorly labelled, because when it's enabled it actually prevents the loader from blocking Priiloader overrides. So in a future update, I might remove it from parental controls and add a new setting elsewhere to enable or disable Priiloader overrides.

Yeah, it should be fixed now

My last update drastically improved Wiimote compatibility and functionality. So most accessories should work better too.

I was hoping to not have any escape, neither to the HBC, or to Priiloader, or to the Wii Menu. But it seems you were able to change what the wii menu button sends you to while in usblgx? How could I do this? As in, how could I 'lock the loader'? I already have my 'return to' set to usblgx.

Also, 'Block Priiloader Override' was already on. I'll keep it on.

Again, sorry if I misunderstood anything.

One of the Return To options for Priiloader is Installed File. I just used Priiloader to quickly confirm that overrides were working.

Press the lock button at the bottom center of the screen so that it turns blue. Then Priiloader overrides will be allowed.

Ah, I get what you mean in regards to the first part now.

Also, are you referring to the parental controls lock icon? I've already tried exiting to the wii menu with parental controls on, it works, which I'm trying to prevent.

I'm saying that with the lock enabled (blue) it should take you to whatever you've configured within Priiloader.

Did you setup Priiloader like this?
  1. Download UNEO Channel Booter for Priiloader.zip
  2. Copy uneoboot.dol from within UNEO Channel Booter for Priiloader.zip to the root of your SD card or USB drive
  3. Boot to Priiloader and install uneoboot.dol
  4. Go into Priiloaders settings and set Return to to Installed File, and then select save settings
  5. Install the USB Loader GX UNEO forwarder with YAWM-ME
If the UNEO forwarder is missing or you didn't select save settings in Priiloader then you'll end up at the Wii system menu.

Edit: The problem was that I had not installed the forwarder with YAWM-ME.

That'll do it lol. But I'm glad that it's working for you now :)

Just keep in mind that if you update the loader in the future, then you might need to adjust a new setting to allow overrides, for the reason I mentioned earlier.

On an unrelated note, are there any good rom hacks that work ( and can also load without disc) with USB Loader GX? Asking because I've noticed that Newer SMBW in particular doesn't play well with USBLGX.

NewerSMB should play just fine on GX. Are you implying that for you it plays better using a dif loader? What exactly do you mean by it doesn't play well?
When I would launch Newer from USBLGX, it would load into the game, but the moment I press a button, it freezes. I was told that 'It's because the custom code loader doesn't like the way usb loader gx patches out the game's anti-piracy.'

If you use NSMBW Mod ISO Builder to create the modded WBFS/ISO file then it'll be assigned a custom game ID. And USB Loader GX will only patch games that match official game IDs.

More problems :wtf:

I can't play Tintin the videogame. Every time I click on the game, I get a black screen with a bunch of letters (DSI error or something) and a beep in the background. Wasn't this game supposed to work properly already? But that's not all. When I try to change the custom view of the menu banners, I also get this same error, and it appears every two or three times I click to change the view. I don't know why it's been giving me so many errors lately :nayps3::cry:

EDIT

How can I disable viewing installed channels on my console? I think that's what's causing the error I mentioned.

That sounds like a bad backup and a corrupt banner.

When someone had this issue before they needed to delete the cache_bnr folder and remove all of their games. Then they added back a few at a time until it they figured out which ones were bad. But in your case it might be Tintin if that's crashing immediately.

Tintin used to freeze after it fades to white while he's on the beach. But I fixed that it and made the game playable.

I think I fixed it! :hrth:

When I switched to SD mode, the loader started deleting all my files from the folder where I saved the covers, codes, bnr cache, etc  and magically now I no longer get any errors when I change the view of the menu banners  It also no longer gives an error when I click on the Tintin banner ^_^ Maybe the error was caused by the amount of custom GC games I had saved? I had too many... Well, at least I don't get that annoying error anymore :glare:

Sorry for this inconvenience

Hello and good day to all, this is unrelated and a Necro bump from another thread, im having a system files corrupted error after I put Wii balance board games, apparently is because of riiconnect24, is there anyone here who has upgraded to Wii link and can play balance board games? Or have any kind of solution, I tried a wbfs game and a original disc, you guys seem technical and maybe can help me?

Also the Wii is not bricked

Hello everyone. I usually use USB Loader GX v3.0 r1281 with emulator on a PAL Europe Wii console (CRT TV + official RGB Scart cable) to play SNES USA+Japan Virtual Console at 60 Hz without black bars and with RGB quality after applying a Region Patch. Although it runs all my games perfectly and "Return to" to the Wii homebrew channel or menu, suddenly after several uses the image stays black.

I have d2x v11 beta 3 installed in slots 248, 249, 250, 251 and I've already tried installing a USB Loader GX forwarder (UNEO) but it still fails. With USB Loader GX v4.0 r1283 the game seems to always run correctly, but I lose the 60 Hz on SNES USA-Japan (only playable via RCA cable) since the Region Patch doesn't seem to work on this version. Should I configure something specific in r1281 or is it a known bug?
