Wish he would push his latest code to his github. Before he disappeared he said he was finishing up a new release.

thats what makes me think something happened.. like his health.. or some other issue.. I hope is OK and eventually makes a return. His work was greatly appreciated and his absence is definitely felt.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread, but does anyone know if it's possible to play the GameCube version of XenoCrisis through USBLoaderGX?

So I downloaded the .ciso file (no regular nkit/iso file available) from Vimm's, and USBLoaderGX recognizes the game from my HDD, but when I try to play it, I just get a black screen. I have an NTSC console, the file is EU only, so I tried setting the Loader to System Default, Force PAL50 & 60 and Force NTSC and it's the same results. Also seems to freeze my Wii as the R+Z+B+Down command on the controller doesn't bring me back to the menu like it usually does.

Thanks.

You cannot play it with Nintendon't and Usb Loader GX, only with Swiss with a SD Gecko.

There are certain PAL games that do not work on NTSC consoles like Tales of Symphonia. Most of them tend to be games anchored at 50hz.

play on Swiss
Support for aftermarket games past the system's official EoL is usually not a high priority. Some development tech demos suffer the same fate. No Peach's Castel for Nintendont users.

To load a Wii game via Swiss, you'll need an SD Gecko (nothing fancy, just a passthrough adapter for the memory card slots, the GCN slots do support the protocols SD cards use) - if you can't do that, maybe DIOS MIOS will work?

I could recommend Devolution, but it doesn't support 60Hz
Devolution does support 60hz: it doesn't support forcing 60hz, but you shoudn't force 60hz to run XenoCrisis if given the choice, it was clearly designed for 50hz and should only be run in 60hz if absolutely necessary (if it would even work, 50hz has a longer VBlank and allows the system to do more work in-between frames - and even if it does work, be prepared for it to run too fast) - what it does support is the forcing of both 480 and 576p, which Nintendont stubbornly doesn't do.

People fall into the trap of thinking 60hz = better because they only judge by games that were designed for 60. Games that were designed for 50 turn the notion on its head. NTSC versions of the classic Worms games all run way too fast, and even the modern PC version of Armageddon runs at 50 tics per second. (Not to mention the Commodore 64 port of the Master System Sonic 1, that can run on a base Commodore if it's PAL, but the NTSC Commodore requires extra hardware to play the game at all)

Xeno Crisis uses the same build for all regions and is designed for both.
There you have it. No problem then.

The way to make it work is likely just... stop forcing settings. It's an aftermarket game, and I'd bet it was designed to be able to run in 480/576 i and p both. Setting forcing is designed for games made while the GameCube was current-gen/early last-gen. Games that had to submit to lot checking - the kind that stupidly mandated that European games not have progressive scan support, and that the 576p video mode go unused as a result.

When i open any game in USB Loader GX, It just boots to the wii menu, I have the isos
, and it shows cover art and everything, but it just dosent work. Someone please help me! Im fairly new to homebrew, so sorry if i sound dumb.

Do you have the correct cios installed run syscheck upload the report to sd card it shows up on the sd root as syscheck.csv post the syscheck.csv here better yet drag and drop your syscheck.csv into ModMii and it will give you all your missing and outdated cios in wad form install all the wads ModMii gives you with YAWMM ModMii Edition. https://oscwii.org/library/app/SysCheckME https://oscwii.org/library/app/yawmME

Hello. I've been using USBLoaderGX since 2010 or so with an SD and a USB hard drive. Recently I've hacked a new 4.3 Wii with modmii and am running everything in a FAT-32 formatted 512GB micro SD. I tested loading both a Wii and a GC game with USBLoaderGX and everything seemed to work fine.
Now, I'm doing a bit of research on current homebrew state and I see in this thread's OP that it is recommended to place Wii backups in a USB hard drive (apparently USB sticks may not work). This makes sense according to my primitive wii homebrew knowledge and setup. But in USBLoaderGX's github it says it does support SD and USB loading.
So my question is, do these limitations still apply with current software versions? Is there any risk of incompatibilities if I run everything from the same SD, as in the setup I described? Besides this I only plan to install VC and Wiiware wads and maybe fceultragx, snes9x gx and vbagx, so the SD will be mostly filled with GC&Wii roms.
Thank you!

I know that's 100 times that this is written, but I just have to ask how you know the menu in the video when you have priiloader installed. Maybe someone can fix this from Source, so to speak, a hotfix. I'm worried about @blackb0x he hasn't done anything for a long time. Or can someone tell me which source is responsible for the banners or channels to fix this?

I'm having an issue with a couple Emulators not returning to USB Loader GX on exit.

I have USB Loader GX v1281 configured to autoboot in Priiloader. All Wii/GC/VC games reutrn to GX on exit as expected.

When I launch the Wii2600 and WiiColem forwarders through GX, the apps run without issues but they always return to the Homebrew Channel on exit.

Priiloader and GX are configured to return to GX on exit.

Any tips on getting the emulators to return to GX and not the Homebrew Channel?

**EDIT**
This issue appears to be related to the emulator forwarders I was using. I tried another Wii2600 forwarder and it returns to USB Loader GX just fine.

Hi, is there an option or a way to enable (power on) the blue disc LED when playing Wii games? It looks cool and I think Wiiflow could do it.

Thanks in advance.
