this is the translator's fault, I'll try to sum it up in a way where the translator doesn't get in the way: I had a problem with some games that the others didn't have or that the majority at least didn't, so I see people reporting some problems and maybe it's the same as mine, in this case I made a partition on the HD, one for Wii in WBF format using the WBFS Manager program and it solved it, the other part is for NGC
I get that it needs to be in WBFS, but I can't put files onto it if it is WBFS which defeats the whole purpose. Plus, it's not that it doesn't recognize the games, its that USB loader GX and WiiFlow just dont load.

The last USB loader GX seems to be able to play games from the internal SD slot. What iso format it can read ? What file system is expected ? WBFS ? FAT32 ? Standard iso's ? What about +4gb isos if it can accept FAT32 ?

Sorry if this has been asked but I did not follow wii scene since ages.

Your SD card should always be formatted to FAT32 so that it works with the homebrew channel and all other homebrew.

Your Wii games should ideally be in the WBFS file format and your GameCube games should either be ISO or CISO files.

I'd recommend using Wii Backup Manager to install Wii games as that'll give you the correct directory structure and it'll split WBFS files that are too large.

it could be what I said, it could also be that you are passing the games the wrong way and it could also be the HD (which leads to +/- what I mentioned, but you need to format it to FAT32) ah, also the HD cannot be 3.0, because the Wii does not recognize USB 3.0 or 1TB
USB 3 drives are backward compatible with USB2. The Wii recognizing them just fine. And I have used a 2 TB hard drive with my Wii since 2012.

Hi everyone. I neeeed help. I'm trying to setup usb loader gx in order to use games that are on my sd card. It works with one (Okami, installed from Usb Loader (disc) to my sd card) but the others won't (Twilight Princess & SS Brawl). I'm only trying with wii games, but I also have .CISO files on my sd.

By the way what is the file extension to use Gamecube games ? And how do I use Wii Backup Manager on a sd card ? Or another app

Not sure if it's an sd card game compatibility thing..

I don't think ciso files will work, only iso or wbfs.

Iso. WiiBackupManager is for Wii games. There's another app for GC games, it's Gamecube backup manager.

Good morning,

Fat32 SD card required.

prefer ISOS or WBFS files on the SD

use wii backup manager as if you were using an external hard drive

EXAMPLE Gamecube games:

/games/Zelda Wind Waker [GZLP01]/Zelda.iso <--- WRONG
/games/Zelda Wind Waker [GZLP01]/game.iso <--- Correct
/games/Tales of Symphonia [GQSEAF]/disc2.iso <--- Correct

When I click "format" on wii backup manager it says "an error occured during format" (or something like this because mine is in french...).

Do you know why ?

So it's fine if my SD Card is in 32FAT and not WBFS mode ???? Because wbfs won't let me transfer games on it this way...

You really are a true help / angel made man (or women, who knows) @jeannotte

Yeah, that's a known issue that I haven't looked into much yet. But I know you'll experience the same issue with all versions of USB Loader GX and WiiFlow too.

You can work around the issue by either putting the data on your SD card or by accessing the loaders homebrew browser and then selecting the Wii button (bottom center) to view a list of titles on your NAND.

Hey there, thank you again for the detailed reply. the forwarder wads did work correctly when everything was on the SD card. is there a way i could somehow help provide a log for this issue to be fixed? the only instance where i believe i saw it working was someone using emunad such as zorg, but i didn't want to go through setting up neek as there doesn't appear to be clear instructions on how to do so currently ( i could also be wrong on that). to me, being able to launch everything from usb loader gx seemed easier than wiiflow since i don't have to setup a bunch of config files. again, thanks for all that you do on the project.

What is the maximum capacity that I can use SD card in the Wii USB?
I know that 256GB Amazon Basics microSDXC cards work, since that's what I used when I added the ability to play Wii games from SD cards.

There's a few posts that say 512GB works too.

This is something that I'm able to reproduce, so you don't need to worry about it. Although I don't know if it's fixable since the issue seems to be caused by the SRL not handling USBs or reloading to the required IOS. That's why they work when the data is on an SD card or if you use the loaders NAND browser, which launches them without using a cIOS or applying any patches.

EDIT: I've come up with a solution for the next release :)

Hi. I am really sorry to bother you here but I don't know wherelse and you helped me.

My friend's Wii has a lot of problems (after he homebrewed it) :
-screen is weird, like yellow and blue
-Wiimote's Pointer doesn't work
-When starting the disc reader makes a big noise.

And maybe other things though I'm not sure... We really need your help guys !

If you are going to buy storage why not a wd 1-5tb portable drive, it will be a better experience. Stay 2tb or less if you want uneek to work on it.
