thanks for the reply. I am getting a new copy on Metroid Prime as I type. Going to try using the other port and will let you know how it went.

@Romee :
Yes, just extract or copy the 3 files in:
SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/

Though, I recommend that you install the forwarder channel too (the one in the wad folder, with titleID : UNEO).
It's used to return to the loader automatically when exiting a game to Wiimenu. (set this option in the main setting, choose return to "UNEO")

Instead of loading the Wiimenu, the games are patched to load UNEO, and it will let you return to the loader

Thanks, but I did it a few minutes after I asked and it's working good
And thanks for the recommendation, but I don't use my Wii much, so that won't be an issue.
The Wii is my kid's system, I've only played one game on it (fatal frame 4)
They are pretty happy with wiiflow, so for now USBLoader GX wiil be in HBC only, in case I want to play a Wii game.

Composite can deliver 480p ?
You don't need Component cable and Wii set to EDTV60Hz to output progressive signal?

Just try, and you will see if it does what you want.

Whats the new Partial Nand emu used for (save games i hope).
And do i need 2 partitions to be able to use online games or is it easier to use the SD for EMU?

About the Nand emulation:

Partial:
It will use /titles/ folder from the device:/Nand/ path you set in the setting. (it will read/write saves on this folder)
It will use your Wii real NAND for all the rest (loading Mii, Wii region settings and network setting for example)

Full:
Will use the full device:/Nand/ folder as if it was your Wii (save, Mii, game log, Wii settings, etc.)
Attention, you need to use your own Wiimote (if you go to someone else home and use his wii, his wiimote won't be associated with your Nand dump).

Place:
If you use USB to store the emulated Nand, It's recommended to place it on a different partition than the launched game.
It's better to use SD card, though I didn't try games with SD card access (SSBB for example).

Empty Nand:
An empty Nand (just select an empty folder) can be used with Partial emulation option.
The required folders will be created to save the games on your SD or USB instead of the Wii internal memory.

Of course Full emulation option require a real Nand dump or a fully created one (like the one created for Sneek).

oh I meant component oops. so i heard people use it for some games that dont support 480p like madworld?should i put force ntsc 480p in the global options?

Also whoever gets component cables for the Wii ITS DEFINITLY WORHT THE MONEy. Can anyone poprove if hdmi is better than component becuase i bought thre third party component cables in ebgames and it has 3 dir\fferent cords for xbox360,Wii and ps3. According to the back of the package it supports 1080p for ps3 and xbox while 480p for wii. Is component 1080p worse or better than 1080p hdmi?

I never tried to force a signal from a game without native video signal support.

Well, I already added missing signal into the ISO with Generic Wii Patcher or Video mode changer (for One piece unlimited Adventure and No more heroes which didn't have a PAL signal at all), but that was when I launched them from disc (the Wii loaded PAL signal only) but 480p was already present in the game, only PAL was missing. It's not a problem with USBloaders as they are using default video signal present within the game instead of the one from the console.

I think Madworld don't even have a progressive mode, adding it manually or forcing it with the loader shouldn't work. But I never tried so don't take my words for granted, you should test to see the result.
First try forcing 480p signal from the loader setting. But as it's not present in the game's main.dol it should not work. You can try to add it to main.dol with GWP so USBloader can find it, but at best it will output in interlaced and at worst it will black/green screen.

u have a list of notsupported 480-p games?

Well I hook up my Wii to a computer monitor which means I can play only in progressive mode, and I can not get Madworld to work there no matter what I do (it does work on a regular tv so it's not the dump) so I know that game is not supported. Other games that I have that I can't run on my monitor are Little King's Story and Samurai Warriors 3. I don't know about any others but there are definitely more.

Those are all PAL versions, though. Maybe if you have NTSC versions you could get it to work.

Noob questions

1) Every now and then Loader GX cannot see my HDD and I will get a countdown befor being taken back to the Wii home page. Us;ally on the 2nd attempt it is resolved. Is this normal?

2) also, every now and then a game that was working perfectly before will freeze up. For example, Arc Rise Fantasia (undub version) worked flawlessly until today when I tried to enter a city a good 7 hrs into the game. The back-up disc worked but running the game from my HDD did not. Is this normal?

thanks

I am running usb loader gx v2.2 and was wondering if there is anyway to get the right title of the game to display. I am using backup manager 0.3.8 and the names are displayed correct but once it is connected to Wii it goes back to the wrong name.
I don't know if they are connected but I try to Import Categories and I get an error (could not open the Wiitdb.xml file) I get the same error when I hit the detail in the loader.
I have no problem with my internet connection.

Go to the settings> page 3>update> and download WiiTDB (it will download a file which contains all the game's names)
Make sure you have the settings > GUI > Use WiiTDB set to enable.

thanks, works like a charm except.

I have multiple drives and when I switch drives it reverts back to old name. I tried updating like I did previously but it says updated already. Is there away to wipe the update of Wii or should I copy files from one drive to other. If I copy files which ones would they be.
Thanks again.

Gene

update: I tried again and it updated

so, I updated my loader gx to the latest (build 1100?) yesterday, and now I can't play New Super Mario Bros Wii anymore. Used to work 100% perfect, but now it just boots me back to the Wii system menu. All my other backups still work OK, it's only this one that stopped working. Any guesses or workarounds?
