Did you choose Default and run through that until the Wii restarts? You have to do that once in order to create a savegame on your Wii. Then you can launch any of the 3 Metroid Prime games.

I will try it later on. Work beckons

Well it seems to work ok for me for the most part. Perhaps it's the ISO you're using. Are you ripping from a disc or did you get it online? A bit more detail would help.
I've been trying different ISOs; releases from several different groups. Though it's down to perception, it seems like some backups launch successfully more often than others.

Though I just realized I'm still using Rev746, so I'll update that and see if it helps. But it seems like a cIOS problem if not a problem with the ISO, which should be fine, since I've tested with so many that work fine for other people.

Im still having trouble. Each time I get to game select menu, if I press the "A" Button everything freezes and I have to keep my finger pressed on the power button. However if when I get to the get to the game select menu and press "B", I just end up back at the wii menu.

Do you mean the game select menu in the game itself when started with Default, or the game select menu in USB Loader GX?

If you mean in the game itself then I think it has already created a savegame and you should be able to start the games selecting Metroid 1, 2 or 3 in the USB Loader GX menu.

Try this when it starts go to settings (the gears on the left) change the load cios to 222 and exit restart and that should have fixed your freeze problem

No, I mean in the GX loader. It asks me which .dol I want to use. Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 3 OR default. If press the "A" button on any of the dol choices, the screen flashes green then goes blank, if I press the "B" button the game boots and I can select any of the metroid prime games, then select my difficulty. Once I press start, the wii boots to the wii system menu. Might seem like a daft question but do I need specific dol files for this game?? Thanks

If you want to play it so bad from USB with 100% use you either need to use Sneek + Di or Dual layer disc or use the alt dols

The thing you describe is happening when you press B is what is expected. Then it has created a savegame on your Wii. To be sure you can go to your savegames and check. Have you tried any of the 3 games after that? If it still doesn't work make sure you use either Hermes cIOS v4 or Waninkokos cIOSr19.

Hermes is installed as IOS222 and that is an option. IOS249 in waninkokos and r17 is recommended for compatibility reasons but 19 does have features that 17 doesnt, but even in the description it says some features were broken. As pet suggested try loading the game again (with the a button or selecting in game) and see if that works. Savedata is essential for some games to even attempt to start so once you have that you should be fine.

Sorry for not being clear. I would like to add a dvd button to wiiflow so it can start gc and wii games form disk. The problem is I don't know how the usb loader gx team got it working. So I am trying to find out what code is need to start a game from disk. I found Mount DVD drive as the comand but add that comand dose not start a disk in the drive. So what else do I need to add to make it work. If U could just point me in the right folder it would save me alot of time. Thanks again.

I recently got a 1.5tb drive and formatted it to fat32, single partition. USBGX seems to act strange with it, im using hermes v4 and it seems that when i play a game, exit and go back, the next game crashes, this was an issue with an older waninkoko cios rev but like i say im using hermes. sometimes the pointer freezes as well, i believe im using gx 866, I tred to update thru gx and it said no new updates (i have beta revs off) Anyone have any insight as to why its doing this? Is the partition too big possibly? Thanks guys and thanks pune

You need to use 249 r17 for compatibility and have IOS222 v4 installed with base merged 37+38. Do all that (install 17 over 19 and it'll overwrite) then run with default settings and it should work. As for port when it's standing yes it's the one on the right (back view). If doing all that still doesn't let you see it take it out and wait for a new screen to come up (non-console) then plug it in.

@ dbzfanatic, you arent going to beleive this BUT, as I said I got both Metroid Prime Triliogy working as well as Monster Hunter Tri. Well I did. However I have just tried Metroid prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 and neither of them works but Metroid Prime 1 does. AS for Monster Hunter Tri, its working like dream. Could it be the actual Metroid Prime Trilogy iso on my hdd that is screwed? Anthing else I might be able to try?
