I can confirm that creating and using a "titles.txt" file does not work.
You can also change game name under usbloadergx:

In usbloadergx settings>loader settings> Turn OFF quick boot option.
change game view to list mode, like this (it can be any other than channel sysmenu like):
upload_2020-9-24_21-17-29.png

Click the game once.
There's suposed to appear a disc spinning with the game name above it.
Click the name of the game, then edit.

Using that method is what I have been doing, only to have the titles revert back after a day or so.

I've edited the file, configured the path of it in the usbloadergx Settings, games from gametbb on,

Use notepad++ to open xml file, ctrl+f> search for:

<title>Conduit 2</title>

Replace for what you want. And dont update wiitbd.xml with usblaoder gx network features or other apps.

I got a crash report when USBLoaderGX tries to mount my WD Passport drive, could anyone figure out what its saying, and if there's a way I can still use my drive? I updated all my homebrew software/apps on 10/4/2020, and tried using a USB power split cable so it's not drawing all the power from one USB slot.

Hello,

The wii tolerates up to 2 TB for the partition of your external hard drive.
If you have a 5TB external hard drive, try partitioning it like this:
1st partition 2TB (wii games, Gamecube) << === FAT 32
2nd partition 3 TB (other files) <<< === the format that suits you.

Can you post a syscheck report by following this guide, please ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

You could also follow the instructions below in my signature to make the drive one 5TB MBR FAT32 partition.

Not sure if you can get the whole 5TB drive as 32k clusters or if you'll need to go up to 64k clusters. With my larger 8TB & 10TB drives 64k & 256 cluster sizes has not been an issue, the key is to take it from GPT to MBR and then Format to FAT32. I have also bought a similar 5TB WD Passport, but have been too busy to play with it to give you the direct answers on cluster size. I also always use a Y-cable just in case to make sure there is no power issue from failing usb ports.

99% of all Wii and GameCube's fit on a 4TB drive, so I had gotten the 5TB to get 100% of the games onto my Wii in the small package of the Passport (rather than the larger WD MyBooks). Maybe I can get to it this weekend and see how it goes. I don't see there being any problem though and am anticipating the 5TB WD Passport becoming my drive of choice.

Edit: If you go this route, try 32k clusters first. If the entire 5TB is not showing as usable just reformat it again choosing 64k cluster size and should work just fine. I'll confirm this myself and get back to you as well.

Hello Jeannotte and ca032769, I do have it partitioned into a 2TB Fat32 (using wii backup manager tool) at 32k clusters, the rest being NTFS. Also what is a GPT and MBR? Thanks!

GPT & MBR are partition table types and how data is read from the drive:
https://www.howtogeek.com/193669/whats-the-difference-between-gpt-and-mbr-when-partitioning-a-drive/#:~:text=On an MBR disk, the,if the data is corrupted.

MBR is the old style & GPT is the new style, so most new drives are GPT. The drive needs to be MBR in order to work with all the associated Wii software like the loaders & Nintendont.

If you read through my link about using larger drives you'll see that you also need to make sure no other unallocated space or something listed with an ASTRIX on the drive, especially if it is in the first position. Use a partition manager program to merge anything unused and the ASTERIX into the FAT32 partition. The issue of unallocated space in the first position showing up as an ASTRIX goes easily overlooked, even in a single partitioned drive, and can cause the loader to not recognize the drive.

I don't use more than one partition on my drives, but I also think that if you do the FAT32 partition needs to be the 1st partition on the drive with the NTFS after it. Something about the loaders reading the first partition first. Some will read all of them, but I use all 3 loaders still CGF, GX & Wii Flow. Not all of them will read drives with multiple partitions.

Your syscheck report is correct.:yaywii:

I too always use the following three loaders: Configurable loader, usb loader gx and wiiflow, when some games don't want to start with one, I use another loader.

Man, when I first hacked my wii I was using CFG loader, which was great. Then a couple of years ago I hacked my WiiU and used Wiiflow. Was fine, looked cool. But most recently l hacked another Wii for myself. Why haven't I been using USB Loader GX all these years? It's fantastic! I can't praise it enough!

GPT & MBR are partition table types and how data is read from the drive:
https://www.howtogeek.com/193669/whats-the-difference-between-gpt-and-mbr-when-partitioning-a-drive/#:~:text=On an MBR disk, the,if the data is corrupted.

I followed instructions in your signature for the most part. I got the 5TB drive in 32k clusters, MBR. it shows 4.54TB usable (don't think I will need to jump to 64k clusters, do I?).
Used EaseUS to check drive properties between steps, and to set it as the primary and active drive.
WD Quick format gave me the option for "Most Compatible (Vista or later required)" or "XP Compatible" (which I used) despite using Windows 10. Also, I had used WD Drive Utilities to turn the sleep timer off before, and it retained that setting after formatting.
I deviated from your instructions by using Wii Backup Manager to format to FAT with 32k clusters instead of FAT32GUI formatter. I will try to test it with games soon.

Edit: Windows properties & Wii Backup Manger only recognize 560 GB, but EaseUS sees 4.54 TB... How did you make a single FAT32 partition larger than 2TB?

Edit: Both Wii and GC games work, load quick, and seem stable. Now I just need to make the full 5TB usable.

That 4.54TB is actually correct, stay with the 32k clusters, it is the usable portion of what a 5TB drive will give you. There is overhead for the partition table and other stuff, so 1,000 bytes on the drive = 1,024 bytes in space needed once formatted. So all drives will show a little under the stated size versus actual capacity. Just like a 1TB HDD will give you only 931GB of actual usable space. Disappointing I know.

Most programs will not format FAT32 above 2TB correctly as needed here. I suggest reformatting using FAT32GUI formatter (at 32k cluster size) instead and report back.

It STILL only shows 560GB usable, with hardware properties still listing 4.54 TB capacity. Not sure whats going on, should I just make multiple FAT32 partitions then?

Edit: To clarify, EaseUS and Windows Disc Management see the 5.54 TB but Windows File Explorer, Window's Drive Properties, and Wii Backup Manager only see 560 GB

The only time I had an issue where the size wasn't showing correct was when I formatted my 10TB to FAT32 @ 64k clusters. To have the computer show the correct size I had to go to FAT32 @ 256k clusters.

I would try formatting it to FAT32 @ 64k clusters to see if that resolves the issue. I won't be able to try my 5TB until this weekend.

EDIT: Also, if there were more then one partition on the drive, you did merge all partitions into one before re-formatting right?

It works! Thanks! I will test it with some games in a bit.

When testing Brawl, at one point in the intro cinematic it freezes (when samus and pikachu are running in the red lit hallway), but otherwise runs fine for everything else. Perhaps it is an issue with how much of the pre-rendered video can be loaded at once? Any idea, has it happened before to others?

You might check to see if that needs a different cIOS to run than your default which is probably in slot #249.

Otherwise I don't play the game so I can't speak to it, but I'll add that to my list this weekend to test out. Maybe others can comment if they know of any issues or special cIOS to run it.

Here are some links to research though:
