did the settings for the theme change?

i can no longer use the B button to toggle to the buttons at the bottom of the screen.
why was that removed? is it coming back?

Hmmmm.... Where to begin

-The covers' frame, when you move through the list, has these odd markings above and below the box.

-Code-dumped pretty quickly for me while scrolling through the games

-Tooltip above is Coverart - to tell you about downloading the cover is kinda annoying. The concept is decent - click on cover to download - but that particular tooltip is More irritating than the ones for the other buttons which seem less intrusive. I still say move the whole feature to Settings because not everyone wants the Covers that the download will provide them and the program doesn't give the user the ability to distinguish which ones he wants to keep and which ones to overwrite (yet), so it will download them all anyway (rather than just the cover you click on).

Ha ha yea its back to my crappy blue gray theme that I made. The dark one like sportsmaniac1322 said can be seen while you are logged in. I am hoping that people will make me a few more website themes for the site and eventually will have a theme chooser for non members, it just wont remember your setting.

Sportsmaniac..... when you upload the new revisions, in the description text field, can you post what was changed as well? People have requested that and the functionality is there, it just has to be entered in.

Hey... I've been testing this since around r150. Figured it was time to register to start leaving feedback.

First off... wonderful work so far... thanks to all involved. I've been through all the other loaders and this is my favorite by far.

I know a lot of people have been clamoring about getting rid of the fade for the disc cover, but now that it's gone I kinda miss it and here are my arguments.

1. You don't need to see the cover while scrolling. I like much better the style of seeing no cover while scrolling, and then only seeing the cover if you settle on a title. The fade in makes this possible, and it looks a lot slicker than the images (trying) to load for each title you momentarily scroll over. It also allows you to momentarily see the background artwork behind the cover images.

2. Cover loading is now buggy as hell, whereas it used to be fine with the fade. Now the images all struggle to load as quick as I scroll, and many times I will get static garbage just before the image loads. The loading also doesn't keep up with my scrolling. I suspect this was masked during the fade in, but now we are seeing the ugly side of SD loading time. And keep in mind not everyone has a super-fast SD card.

Obviously this should be made configurable so everyone is happy, but until then I say we go back to the fades and loading the image only after you've settled on the title, not while your flying past it.

Props on all the great work so far and keep em coming.

b now is used to scroll quickly by pointing up and down
instead of b, now 1 is used (i think it's one)

if you are a widescreen user rename the backgroung.png to wbackground.png (or just create a copy with that name) and that should fix it. everyone should read the changelog from time to time.

ya i notied this also...it almost looks like they're trying to get rid of the fading in/out of the covers and this is bug

i read (not very well i suppose) the changelog on the first page and didn't see anything about changing the background.png. i did just notice the mention of the B button scrolling thing and i guess that is kind of what i was talking about. i probably never would have guessed that the 1 button was now mapped to that function. plus the changelog is from r210 and that latest official compile is from r208.

i will be sure to check more thoroughly next time. thanks again.

awesome... works great.
it also now lets me scroll quickly without showing any images, and then loads only after resting for a second... exactly what I wanted, cause that lets us see the background image momentarily.

Now only thing left is to make that fade configurable. I must say it does look a lot nicer with. I realize people may have wanted to get rid of it because they wanted the images to change as quick as they scrolled.. but I think that presents image loading issues... the loading just isn't fast enough. Maybe it's possible by storing all the images in some type of RAM, but I think it's a waste of resources.

And the fade just looks better. I say make it the default, and configurable.
