Is it state of the art that i have to copy GC games to the SD Card before i want to play them? I have about 100GB CG Games on an extern HDD and only a 8 GB SD Card in my wii...

you probably are using a very old version (let me guess : revision 1180 ?) instead of a newer revision which works with gamecube games on USB.
after updating the loader, you'll have to verify your folders are correctly pointing to USB, because old version of nintendont only worked on SD, so the loader forced SD path.
so, after updated, check the settings > user paths
or easier : just reset the settings.

I dont think so, I updated my wii 2 weeks ago the newest homebrew, usb launcher and so on. Maybe I need some settings? Everytime I want to play a GC game from USB Loader GX he want to copy it first to SD card (but I see the game with cover and all)

So, i have USB Loader GX v3.0 IOS 249 Rev 21008

No Updates available...

I think my problem is, that I didnt set up Nintendont in the USB Loader, cause I dont know where?

Post the revision number. 3.0 could include almost 3 years of updates. Please look at the first post for where to obtain the latest version.

@stevedidWHAT Check your partitioning first. Launching titles with Nintendont does not require a cIOS.

What do you mean partitioning? You aren't supposed to partition USB drives, most of them get corrupted (I know this from experience and several flashdrives) Is there something I've misunderstood? Furthermore, I didn't think you needed to partition for gamecube games... I hate to be so needy but could you maybe point in me the right direction? I installed cios for the future to play some of my old wii games I backed up, not for nintendont as nintendont uses ios58.

Thanks for your help btw!

Update: I did some digging and found out that we're really not partitioning in the terms of how OS partition hdd, more like specifying specifically how the one partition should be divided up further.

I'm using windows format to format the drive once more, I believe it was set to default allocation in the beginning (1kb... I cry.) I disabled quick format just to be sure. Will post first thing tomorrow morning as it is a lengthy process and I've got some code I need to write tonight.

Hi, I'm back on the scene after a while modding my vWii. I have some questions. Whats the difference between Cyan's, GreyWolf's, Badablek's TABMOD, and the plugin mod? What plugins can I get for USB Loader GX? What is the best most stable version to get right now for the vWii? Thanks.

@stevedidWHAT You can repartition a drive that's classified as removable, Windows just doesn't like to do it. I asked because some larger storage devices like big SD cards come partitioned as exFAT. Some small USB flash drives are FAT16. The Wii doesn't really have an operating system or drivers to speak of so the file system and drive management has to all be baked into the application.

@superkrups20056 Cyan's is the official main branch. Mine is fairly close to the official branch right now but I'm working on rewriting a bunch of it. Badablek's recent tab mod used my fork I think and I'm not sure which one fledge is using but I think it's the main branch. The official one is stable but Cyan hasn't committed the updates for the latest Nintendont settings yet.

I have a cIOS based EmuNAND setup already, how hard is it to switch from that to neek2o?
I know this is kind of coming from nowhere, but I'd like to set that up if possible.
Getting sick of the compatibilty issues using cIOS EmuNAND comes with.

I'd rather not have to completely make a new EmuNAND from scratch if possible as well.

You can use the same folder but with neek2o you should move it to /nands/somename/ as the neek2o version of the kernel doesn't seem to like just /nand/ very much.

There should be probably less than ten titles that don't work with d2x's NAND redirection.

Any advice for setup and links to the needed files?
Googling it only gives me "use modmii" which isn't exactly a tutorial- and I'd rather avoid that clunky mess of software if possible.

https://code.google.com/archive/p/custom-di/ is this the only public repository of it and are these the files I need?
If so which files, and where do they go?

Google Code has been closed since the beginning of last year so that's old. Modmii is the easiest way to build the kernel. There's a "wizard" that walks you through it.

Should I go with UNEEK or UNEEK+DI?
DI is Drive Interface, right? Is that something I'll need for just an EmuNAND?

ModMii is better than I remember it. Huh.
Neat!

Also the problems I have are with a few VC I want, as well as a few issues with Wiiware DLCs

+DI allows you to mount disc images as if they were real discs and they show up in the disc channel. It's not needed if you only want to run channels and it can actually slow NEEK down when it's loading if you have a bunch of game disc images on your drive.

Thanks for the help, honestly I've been putting off setting up neek2o for years because the loader hadn't added support for it until about a year or so ago. And awesome work on the fork, I wish you luck with all your rewrites, I'll be following them and reporting any bugs I find. :)

Forwarder won't load from USB (even with the new, fix version) on vWii.

It worked when I tried it again. Wierd.

I'm having trouble loading some games and not others now. I think it may be an issue with loading NTSC discs (my system is PAL). Forcing NTSC or NTSC 480p isn't working though.

One thing I've noticed so far is that the Return To option for NEEK doesn't seem to be working, unless I'm doing something wrong.
@GreyWolf What is that supposed to do? Return you to the loader when quitting with the home button right?
Intead it's trying to load the NEEK Wii Menu on mine, which isn't what I wanted it to do exactly.

Googling the problem says I need a NK2O Channel of some sort that will reboot the console?

Update:
So @GreyWolf I formated the drive for fat32 with 32kb allocations and moved my gc games back onto it. I ran it and it is still giving me a black screen for longer than 10 minutes. Any other ideas or steps I can take to give more info?

Hi.

Try changing the
IOS249[56] d2x-v10beta53-alt
to
IOS249[56] d2x-v10beta52

The beta53 has less compatibility for USB... Not recommended to use this one only if yopu know why you want to use it.

One thing I've noticed so far is that the Return To option for NEEK doesn't seem to be working, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Yes, you need to install the NK2O Channel on your Emunand if you want "return to" work...

No dice. I think it has something to do with usbloadergx specifically because the sound which plays when you initially select a disk plays through the black screen until it finishes. Black screen remains as well as the player 1 light on the wiimote.
