Hello fellow modders!

I have an issue with my Wii and was hoping you guys could help.

Basically, NeoGamma, wiiflow and Usb Loader GX all work when you first turn on the console, however, when you quit a game, return to the menu then reload any of the before mentioned apps, it can no longer see the USB Flash Drive. To fix I have to power cycle the console, and because bootmii is installed, I need to physically piss about on my hand and knees in the tv unit looking for the reset button!!

Has anyone encountered this error before and how did you fix it? Should I just buy an external HDD as I have read that Flash Drives can cause issues.......

USB Flash drive don't work correctly with the Wii or WiiU.
use a real external HDD instead.

But maybe it's not necessarily a flashdrive issue, did you try another flashdrive? or a HDD ?
maybe it's an outdated setup.

But, general rule, flashdrives are not recommended.

Yeah a HDD over a flash drive will likely resolve the issue. But to cover all our bases share a Syscheck (or have ModMii analyze it).

On another note, you can adjust bootmii settings so that it autoboots something else, like the system menu or HBC. If you just want to boot straight to the main menu you can rename the bootmii folder on the SD card to something else (and rename it back if/when you need to use bootmii). Alternatively there are bootmii configurator apps that can assist, ModMii Classic can do this on windows (as well as other pc tools) but there's also a wii app you can use that doesn't require a PC to adjust bootmii config settings.
