Both of those ideas are 100% awesome!

Assuming you still want to do it the way you were already doing it?

EDIT: Reflection wouldn't probably be too hard to make too.. Flip over the cover and add premade gradient.png on top.
...FrontRow main menu...

. But hey, I like everything from Apple, like you know
tongue.gif
. Still I would prefer the style I suggested...and Yup, reflections should be easy, if you can mirror a Image with code and display something over it...something like that:

Anyway those are just modded Loaders, I am starting a completely new GUI here.
Look at this
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=&showto...t&p=1892005
it's not a modded launcher, it's a new working GUI which actually starts games...
What you did is a nice GRRLIB demo, but integrating the code which reads and starts games will be the real work.
Your GUI seems to run good, but why do you always use the same image? What about a few different images to show it's beauty? Does it already read the images from SD or are they integrated?

Your loader somehow slipped by. I haven't noticed it.
I've worked too much on mine to let it go, but I am sure that we can exchange some code! I slipped you a PM.

Covers are loaded from SD. It loaded just one for a menu demo. Right now it loads covers from gamelist and I am working on game launching.

I'm considering your last proposal too but that would require the whole GUI to be recoded.

@Blue-K: Yeah, I know.. And you're not alone..
biggrin.gif

I think it's not that hard flipping it over.. I'm not a coder though. And that gradient is exactly what I was thinking about.

What I think you should do is fade the covers more as they get farther from the one that's selected.. Like you know.. Coverflow..

Apple design ftw...

Personally, If i want graphics I'd install the game channels/banners onto my wii system menu.

The USB loader to choose from the list, I prefer no game images for that.

Well, images are ok, but my main priorities are speed and ease of browsing the game lists.

its nice but it only shows 6 games at a time. i like having 21 games displayed at a time with the 1.1s ones.
Yeah.

Noted too.

I want to get it to load the games first then concentrate more on design.

I like your ideas so most probably we-ll get in the gui.

Got a little carried away with designing.. Wanted to show it to someone...

Or a little bit lighter:

Covers scrolling up and down, different bg for every game, what do you think? Think it's pretty cool.

as i said b4 it looks nice but when you have lots of games your just too lazy to scroll and want them all on 1 screen to quickly select.

Has anyone tried this loader? ---> Uloader v1.0B by HERMES

uLoader is a work based on the YAL Kwiirk and usbloader of Waninkoko who has tried to support the work of both customs IOS (cIOS222 and cIOS249) to launch backups from USB storage devices and a graphical style channels Wii.

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-596jAJ9ug

Features:

- Display screen 16 games, displaying an icon that can be inserted into the disk itself, using that review wbfs_win.exe attachment (see below "Notes on wbfs_win).

- It has a screen favorite games (16 games) programmable

- Allows you to select the services to use between 222 and CIOs CIOs 249.

- Texts in English and Spanish (auto)

- Ready for use from a GH3 guitar controller

Note:If this is not the right place delete all

@Blade-guy: Yeah, I don't have money to buy all the games on the market, so I don't care much about the largest libraries. I want it looking good. Damn good..
biggrin.gif

@Golfman: Dunno, scrolling the covers vertically isn't probably any more harder to do than it is done in the poc here.. Only this is vertical whereas that was horizontal. Then there's just text. Dunno how the text broders could be done?

Overall, it should be doable. But then again, I'm not a programmer. Damnit. Gotta take some courses on computer programming..
biggrin.gif

@pro2oman: Yeah..
biggrin.gif

EDIT: @dgtor: Well that doesn't look damn good at all..
biggrin.gif

Yes, exactly, but with the source code and your knowledge it can be developed.

Some idea:

-Change "channel" for cover image.
-....

Dgtor, are you talking about using the opening.bnr perhaps? It can be considered imposible. No-one is willing to reverse engineer the format so fully so any banner could be displayed. Or are you talking about something else?

I think you're confusing me to the starter of this thread.. Or someone. I don't know coding either, Im just an artist.

I like BOTH of these, but we have to account for long game titles. So, I think the only on that would work would be the second one. However, I would recommend separating the list on the right more...they're kind of close together.

The second One is the Great! I dono who made it but the second presentation of Covers is right to me! BTW just one thing: please put the middle cover right in Forwards, and the other covers (2 covers on the right and 2 covers on the left of the middle one) they should be a little bit in Backwards! is it possible to paste cover images on a non square shape ? -> if so, then perfect! -> if no, then just let those covers be in the same shape as the middle one)!

hope clear what i meant^^

I made it ^^, so I can clear some things up...This was just a Basic layout and I also want that the selected cover should be in the middle. I'm coping the Style of FrontRow, and in that Style, there's no little bit Backwards. I'm happy with this basic Idea, and I would be so amazed and happy if that would be possible to realise, but I think it's nearly impossible, or very hard to do...
frown.gif
. But if it's possible, I'll be the first one that will create more Mockups and Ideas, because this is my favourite GUI, althoigh it may never happen
