You could put the switch on the SD card from lock (read only) to unlock...

Shame on me, but I didn't check this. Now (SD card switched back to unlock) I had the loader fully installed via the channel.

Just a note, maybe useful for future releases: at the first start the loader recognized only 7 covers (out of my 30 games on HDD). The force option on the config menu didn't work at all for me, so I tried by pressing 2 on the game info screen. It finds the cover (I have ALL the needed in the right folder) and adds it to the game, but this works only for 2/3 games. After that, no more covers added .
The strange thing is that at the next Wii restart, I can add some more (still 2/3 only). Now I've restarted my Wii enough, so I have all covers shown, but I thought is was better to point this out.
[and most important, now the loader keeps showing them again after a Wii reboot, this wasn't happening to me with RC7]

Last (at least I hope) question: the gui-fx folder is on the SD root , and I think it has to stay there (this is another error I was doing when installing it "via HBC").
I am working on a "multiple" USB loader forwarder channel, if I want to include also this loader, should I point the forwarder to _gui-fx.dol ? or somewhere else?

thanks again for your support, and for this nice work!

The force download option will download all covers again. What do you mean that it didn't work at all?
Sorry but I don't understand that two thirds part...
I think that you have problems with the internet connection.
GUI-FX can show covers after restart because they are actually saved on SD

You can point the forwarder to either SD:\gui-fx\_gui-fx.dol or USB:\gui-fx\_gui-fx.dol
GUI-FX can install itself and loads covers from USB if a FAT partition is present. Cover loading is almost instantaneuous.

Hi again,
as wrote in my previous post I have already ALL the images in the right folder (all OK, usbloader-GX recognizes them , and now also GUI-FX
wink.gif
). I hoped that with "force download option" I could force the loader to load and show them. (as wrote before, at the FIRST start of the loader only 7 covers were shown)
The problem infact is that even if I have covers in right place, to have them shown for the first time I must go to the info screen and press "2". Once done this, they are always shown .
But this doesn't ALWAYS work! Every time I restart the loader I can use the "2" button for 2 OR 3 games maximum, after that -> no more covers shown, I must wait for a new reboot of the loader
The two thirds part was meaning this... (sorry, my fault): that I can "force to show" maximum 2 or 3 games every reboot. Now I have all the 3d covers shown (rebooted enough times...), but I must do the same with the 2D-classical ones.

OK for the forwarder (I will try ASAP) , for the cover loading I am experiencing the above mentioned problem (but once they are shown, their loading is almost instantaneuous, you're right!)

thanks again, B.

ok, got the picture.
It has something to do with your hardware in particular, this problem is not because of GUI-FX

Something is interrupting file reading/writing.

I am having a same problem.

I am using a Wii that has been softmodded to use HBC with Gamma Loader and SoftLoader to play Rock Band Games. I have installed and used USB Loader 1.5 to Play and Dump games.

I have used your new RC8.dol to play games as well as download the covers.

I am having problems using the WAD/ Channel. I installed the WAD Forwarder/Installer as a channel. I loaded the GUI-FX channel and it went to black screen and then flashed an orange box for a split second and then went to a black screen again and hung. I left it this way for approximately 20 minutes and had no luck. My WiiMote shutoff immediately and the Wii seemed unresponsive. I had to push and hold the power button to shut down.

My HDD has 2 partitions and the dol file is using both partitions for the covers and games.

Am I doing something wrong. I want to use GUI-FX as a channel since my son is the one that typically uses the Wii and I prefer him not using the HBC.

Thanks

Lanzera, make sure you FAT partition on HDD is active and primary, the channel will then work correctly.

Or if you want to store covers on SD and not usb drive itself then start the channel with only the SD card inserted so that it will install itself on SD card.

I don't know if my problem is hardware related (I will buy another SD card and try) but now I added another game to my HD, it is seen and it works by the loader, BUT the cover image is not shown, no way to have it. Of course the png file with the right size is in the right folder as all the others, but the loader doesn't load it. I press 1 for game info, 2 for loading the cover, the loader freezes for some seconds but after , no cover as before. Maybe I am still missing something?

thanks, B

HI, I have the same problem.
It work on other USBloader but not on Gui-Fx, same no covers shown.
However, i managed to solved it now. I even used my own cursor (not star).

Hi, how did you solve the problem?

Anyway I also managed to fix my situation: I checked the FAT partition of my HDD and there was a gui-fx folder (when I made install and first launch the HDD was unconnected), without boot.dol file but with the right folder structure.
If I delete it, the launcher rebuids it again at the next reboot, so I copied all the files from my SD gui-fx folder to the HDD one, I launched the loader and it works!

Now I'm pleased with it, but is there any way for forcing the loader to have no files in the FAT partition, apart not having one

?

I would like to also ask if such a release is possible too. I use usb for loading homebrew now and this would really help me to save time from loading the homebrew channel repeatedly.
