Hacking Upgrade from Luma 7.0.5

I attempted to update Luma and it failed (obviously) so I looked for a guide to do it manually. I think I used a guide that's too new because it didn't work.

Holding start does nothing.
Holding select brings me to Luma 7.0.5
Putting godmode.firm as my boot.firm does nothing so I'm pretty sure I'm still on a9lh but can't hook current builds of godmode or d9s installer.

Is there a way to install d9s from FBI or old godmode without using luma payloads?

You should be able to using https://3ds.hacks.guide/a9lh-to-b9s and following everything that is said in there.

7.1 would require a update to b9s to v1.3 from 1.0 or 1.1. You say your on 7.0.5 which is A9LH

luma 3ds 7.1 and higher requires b9s 7.0.5 and lower uses a9lh follow the guide they linked

Let's assume Luma is broken, how would you run the firm in payloads if Luma wasn't running it at start. The guide says I should see the d9s updater, not godmode menu.

What do you mean by the old GodMode? You can't use GodMode9.firm until you've updated to B9S. If you are on A9LH still, you need godmode9.bin.

I have the old style little pink 3ds, so no secret_sector.bin
boot.3dsx 441 KB (452,380 bytes) is on SD Card root.
boot.firm 177 KB (181,248 bytes) from Luma9.0 is on SD Card root.
arm9loaderhax.bin 73.5 KB (75,324 bytes) is on SD Card root.
lumaupdater.cia is in my cia folder.
GodMode9.firm is in my luma/payloads/ folder. (Along with SafeB9SInstaller.firm)
Awww.. fudge. Ya'll right that I made a newbie mistake. SafeB9SInstaller. effin bin.
