Updating Wii U Setup?

I first installed CFW on this thing in 2020. Now I'm trying to update it, with no idea what I had on there. I assume Mocha, but what version is beyond me.

All this to try and update the Homebrew App Store because it is freezing on me when I run it (music plays but all Wii U input becomes uninteractive).

Tricky part: My Wii U has a regular old SD card of 32GB, and my current laptop does not have a slot for that to install things manually to the SD card.

You should probably update to Aroma (you can also have Tiramisu as a backup if you need it), the well known guide at https://wiiu.hacks.guide/ has a section of upgrading from old homebrew to new environments.
As for the SD-reader: Just get a any cheap SD to USB adapter from whatever online of offline shop you prefer
