Before you even say anything, yes I am using AKAIO's latest release. So I downloaded Curley's updated cheat files that he released on the 23rd and stuck them in the __aio/cheats folder. Standard routine. So far the cheats menu works for every one of my games except one: Valkyrie Profile - Covenant of the Plume.

Says "Error - Cheat file was not found."

So I rebuild the .XML file...nothing
Rebuilt the CHEAT.dat file...nothing
Rebuilt the USRCHEAT.dat file....still nothing.

I know I must be missing something real simple here, but I am not sure what. Any help?

did you delete the CC file for the game in the cheats/cc folder?

I am looking in the CC file folder right now and dont see this games ID listed in there? Is that why?

And to the poster above, no I have not altered the ROM in anyway. Downloaded it from the most popular site for ROMs on the net (you know it).

And now that I try some other options, I have noticed that my DQ5 codes list does not come up either. Honestly I am so confused right now.

Hmmm.........you MAY want to repatch teh rom manualy, or delete all of your CCs, or rename your save file to the other extention. Whatever makes the cart not recognize the rom and make more files for it. Or even, just re-download the ROM. Anything can happen in teh world on downloading.

Yeah I am re-downloading both of them right now and am also going to delete all the files in the CC folder and see if that helps. By default do you know what format AKAIO looks for first for the cheat files? What I mean is, if I have those 2 .DAT files in there as well as the .XML file, which one does AKAIO look at first to grab the cheat list?

USRCHEAT.DAT was always my card's first choice, but I don't think that should matter. Cheats.xml works just fine to me, as well!

Also, back up the save to teh computer and let AKAIO make a new one when you patch the new ROM.

Neither... It all depends on what you chose as your Cheat Database. I think it asks which cheat database for, USRCHEAT.DAT, CHEAT.DAY and .XML.

Which ever one you chose... Since you will have to set it first too.
