Hacking Speculations about Switch 2 hacking

I don't think anyone said the system won't get jailbroken eventually. The more sensible assumption is the console won't get hacked within its life cycle. For this to happen, Nintendo need to have fucked up pretty badly like some serious leak.

Last time it was Nvidia that fcked up. That didn't happen this time.

Well is that really true, for v1 switch yes Nvidia was to blame. But then how do you explain migswitch - is that nvidia's fault or picofly on patched switches - is that also nvidia's fault?

Look at evey console - some said xbox360 couldn't be hacked without a hardware mod and we have bad update/bad avatar. PS3 was hacked via usb, PS4 via web browser (and others). Every console has been hacked. Someone ends up just thinking about some way to defeat the system, switch 2 can probably be done by removing the chips from the motherboard, putting on a custom board to read them, or decapping them and then decompiling/decrypting firmware and then looking for an exploit.

While it's true most people don't have the resources or knowledge to do that, there's people in this world that do.....so is switch 2 unhackable? I don't think so and history has shown us that everything is hackable at some point. Now we have AI tools that can be used to help with this, so it's just a matter of time until it's hacked in my opinion. For all we know someone could have a custom game cartridge mod that's not public.

Mig is not a hack/ entry way, it is simply a cartridge duplication/ replacement.

Yes, because that would not be here today if the Nvidia backdoor was not exposed.

Why re-invent the wheel when we already have it.

Original picofly dev (before it was picofly), probably thought the same thing, it doesn't mean that there weren't other ways. It just means since the knowledge was already there they could use that as a base and took the easier path which is the common sense thing to do.

Pretty much everything that happened with the Switch to get to this point is due to the initial opening Nvidia didn't close. Once people were in, they worked from the inside out.

A very smart and talented developer named SciresM, who is the creator of Atmosphere, has for years tried to find another backdoor other than the Nvidia RCM. He has publicly stated there is none. So I would take his word on that issue.

There's teams of very smart developers throughout the world that work for Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo that have all said the same thing about their systems and yet....

We can all dream, and I honestly do hope a hack comes for Switch 2, but I don't believe it will be a softmod. I believe it will require a modchip, and I believe it will not be available for years, possibly end of life. Just my opinion anyways.

Well... migswitch wouldnt have been possible to begin with if it wasnt for a modern firmware kernel level access. And... to this day that doesnt exist on the console. MIG would be limited to games released for firmware 7.0.0 or prior if it wasnt for Nvidia's fuckup.

Well tbf Nintendo has never once called their system "unhackable" lol. Afaik the only one who directly bragged about Security was Sony with the PS3.

No that is Nintendo full fault, the LOTUS is unable to detect full duplicate of the cartdrige, but a good 1:1 copy is almost impossible to detect.

Anyway, about your actual point, if there are no super-secret 1337 h4XX0rs, what kind of people have been busy cracking Denuvo? What sort of people have been spending years finding an exploit in Denuvo that totally negates it, but keeping quiet about it until they were ready to release the exploit?
What sort of people hacked the original Nintendo Switch? Or the 3DS? What do you call the people who spend years of their life and free time, in secret so it won't immediately get patched, to find exploits, hack systems, and maintain the exploits?
