Hacking Updatin' mah Wii U

Evening gentlemen (and ladies).

So I have a Wii U on 5.1.0 and I've essentially had it unplugged so that it doesn't update. Tomorrow Nintendo will release an update for Mario Kart 8 that I'm sure will require a newer firmware.

Should I update?

Is there any reason not to update? I understand that there was a browser exploit, but is it useable?

As of yet the browser exploit does nothing for us users, but devs can do what they want with progress.

Does the browser exploit work up to 5.1.2?

Nope not atm, and we don't know if it ever will but they say there are more bugs in the browser, just have to search.
