I bought a 3DS off of somebody and it has homebrew installed (I was aware of this when purchasing and that’s why I did it). It keeps nagging me to update my console but I don’t want to lose all the games that are downloaded onto it because I don’t know how to put them back on.
The homebrew apps on the DS are:
-Anemone 3DS theme manager
-one that is a blue background with a flag
-FBI
-the homebrew launcher
-one that’s a blue luma
-FTPD

To be clear. you have CFW (custom firmware). Technically homebrew is a different thing, though the distinction is kind of irrelevant these days. Also, currently installing CFW is free and relatively painless.

What is your current official firmware? You can find that in the System Settings app.

If it's already at 11.8 or later, then you can just go ahead and update and there is nothing to worry about. If it's older, then you still don't really have much to worry about, but some precautions are necessary.
