Hacking Updateing wii to 4.2 offline

I was wondering if there is a way to update a 3.x wii to 4.2 wii offline The reason i want to do it offline is because if i do it through nintendo it might update to 4.3

Super Mario Galaxy 2 or any other game which contains 4.2 update.
There is also DOP-Mii way.
Why do You need to update in first place?

If you know how to install wad, then use Mod-Mii to update.

Otherwise use Super Mario Galaxy 2.

thanks man the wii is a virgin and i am going to mod it but it is 3.x and i dont want it to update to a 4.3 throught N
So since it is virgin i will have to update with Super Mario Galaxy 2

You can hit up the modify any wii sticky, and follow the instructions to update to 4.2
