Hello. I am trying to help a friend out, I have been out of the switch hack scene for awhile now. Anyway, he tells me that he had a working switch with cfw, but decided to update to 11.0 online. It worked, but the cfw obviously didn't. So he decided to restore his nand backup that he made on who knows what ofw, and now he only gets a blue screen when powering on, but he can boot up hekate.

Anyway, now I have the console and am trying to help him boot up, but from what I have read, I undertand this:
- Since he has 14 burnt fuses, it MUST boot 11.0 firmware only, I'm guessing this is the reason for the bluescreen.
- Hekate can't bypass the fuse requisite since hekate does not support 11.0 firmware. (my question) If he restored the nand, shouldn't he be able to use hekate to bypass the fuse check, or does the firmware modify something else?

Another question: Could I use ChoiDujour to rebuild a 11.0 nand once the firmware files can be found online?

Any help would be great. Sorry for so much questions, never have I been in a situation like this. Normally my friends ask for help when they can´t boot, or just updated, not restore a useless nand.

Hekate doesn't need to "support fw" in order to skip fuse check... Fuse check is skipped as soon as you boot hekate since its a custom/not official bootloader. My guess is that you somehow fucked up restoring nand or something, i'm not a specialist in it since i never restored nand/nor bricked my switch (i have nand backups of course tho). So theoretically you should've been fine after you restored your nand and attempted booting cfw within hekate.

Maybe worth trying to restore it again or going for manual downgrade right away.

Blue screen usually means they didn't restore BOOT0/BOOT1, and just restored RAWNAND.
You need to restore all of those.

My friend restored the nand once, that´s what started this mess, I have already restored it again with boot0 and boot1. I also compared boot0 and boot1 to the files with the same name in the emunand folder, and they are exactly the same (cmd fc /b). Just in case they were somehow corrupted. Maybe his nand dump is corrupt. When trying to launch stock from hekate I get an error: "Unknown pkg1 version", "Hos version not supported" ¨trying backup bootloader". Could it be the bootloaders are not matching the nand backup? It would be weird since he said he only backup up things on the first boot of hekate months ago.

Downgrade back to older firmware with ChoidujourNX on PC and boot it. After that, just update it again. There is a thread about it.

Thanks, this is what I was thinking of doing, I read quickly about it, but the console keys seem to not have been backed up. Ill read some more to make sure everything can be done, and give this a try. Thanks.

Downgraded with the guide on switch homebrew guide to 6.0, since I could only find the keys to 6.0. It booted up, and I updated it back to 11.0. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks.
