Hacking Update from 3.2E to 4.0

Hi. I just wanted to hear if its a good idea updating to the new firmware, the 3.2 version have always been the best firmware to work with, but what about the new one, and will you guys recommend me to update?
- I read all over that i still is able using softmii and all the other apps so it should'nt harm me much to update right?
