Hacking Update firmware from 1.1.0

IF YOU PLAN TO USE HOMEBREW IN THE FUTURE READ:
You can use a9hl and no risk at all!, Find a otp guide and skip to the getting otp section since your already in a low fw only works if your fw is 2.1 is less so your lucky...
If your not planning a hardmod then upgrade to 10.6, from there you can downgrade to 9.2, the downgrader is actually very stable is used correctly..

I have some consoles on 2.1 which I got the OTP for but have since stuck in a cupboard. Would you recommend upgrading them then downgrading rather than buying a game to update with? Is updating via download play possible?

Was the consoles ever 9.2? If yes Restore using a backup with spider in the browser, no? Safest Way Is to upgrade to 9.2 with a cart or to 4.5 the same way and use sysupdater to 9.2, but Right now [Dangerous] you can downgrade from 10.6 so if you know what your doing then downgrade from there...

Oh well I'll just buy a cart I guess (I will try download play using Gateway tonight though, just in case it works and can save myself getting a black mark for returning too much stuff to EB).

If you used sysupdater then before then you shouldnt have a issue downgrading from 10.6

Succeeded importing JP video to JP 3DS emuNAND.
1) Delete 0004001000023000 (on JP 3DS emuNAND) with FBI (Devmenu cannot do that).
2) Install JP video CIA.
3) Reboot emuNAND.
Done.

The next is spoofing & injecting Promo Video to SysNAND?

If u got to 2.1 by downgrading, use a cart. If they are naturally 2.1, then I dont know, but cart is for sure a good option as far as it is up to 4.2. I do believe luigi`s mansion 2 have a 4.2 update.

Yes you can do a dirty region swap just to get otp

Install all 9.2u titles using sys updater. Swap the sec a file. Downgrade to 2.x and get otp. Then restore your twn nand

My TWN console is 4.5.0 now, can I just install 4.5u titles, swap file then downgrade to 2.x unless needed tools aren't comptible with 4.5?

What you can do, is update it to 10.7 using system update, then downgrade to 9.2, then 4.2 if you really need to through gateway.
It'd be nice to get the video, but I feel that unless you're a pro at soldering, it's almost unfair to ask someone to either solder thier 3DS, or send it away to get soldered.
That's just my opinion, but don't feel pressured either way.

the downgrade? I've used that atleast twice to downgrade to 4.2 then back to 9.2. Just make sure it's n RXTools dev mode when using sysupdater

what? i once saw that when downgraded using gateway it wasn't possible to use system update via settings, you know, if someone wants to unhack .

Through system settings, dont. I've bricked 2 3DS's, one with using system settings to upgrade after GW downgrade, and one to upgrade with cart.
I've unbricked both of those (or maybe one, cant remember), but if you want to upgrade after using GW's downgrade you HAVE to use SysUpdater in rxTools dev mode

@Filo97 agreed. I'd advise not to use anything gateway related, seen as how it's outdated.

but if he uses sysupdater to downgrade to 4.5 and not gateway he will be able to upgrade.
