Hacking "Update cancelled, reboot DS"

I'm trying to update my Acekard 2i to the newest firmware from the www.acekard.com website but every time I press the .nds file on my 3DS, it doesn't even give me a chance to start the update. It says "Update has been cancelled, reboot DS."

I've reformatted my microsd card 2 times already as FAT and it still hasn't worked.

Any ideas?

Use the original acekard system instead of AKAIO. Then after updating switch back.
For some reason that has been happening to a lot of people.

Have you formatted your microSD with SDformatter?

Make sure you're using the right .nds file, the one to be used on DSi/3DS systems and not the DS/DSL one.

Do you know what HW you've got ???
HW:44 firmware can't get updated to work on latest 3DS firmware

I know I don't have HW:44 since I've updated my card before so it shouldn't have that issue. Plus I just purchased it from them a few weeks ago. I'll try to use the old Acekard system and then try to update. I also know I'm using the correct NDS file as well.

I've found this is often due to a contact problem.

Meh. I had this problem too on mine. Just keep holding A whole time you start up the .nds and at same time of still holding A try press start. That worked for me.

This was the solution for me for anyone who has the same issue.
Just go to http://www.acekard.com/download.php, scroll down and download the old firmware version 4.23

I kept getting that as well the solution that worked for me is mentioned above of using the older acekard release

Akaio 1.8.8 worked FINE for me. I had this very same issue.
