Hacking Update Blocking

I am on FW 5.5.1 and have sites/IPs blocked through my Modem/Router combo. Anyway, is it still recommended to keep blocks enabled? When enabled, I have noticed it has been interfering with sites like IGN and Steam Store. Thoughts and help greatly appreciated

It's always recommended to keep updates blocked because you never know if Nintendo will drop a surprise Wii U update before the Switch, maybe even after but probably not.

Try using TubeHax DNS (that still works, right?) to block updates on your Wii U only if the way you're doing it interferes with browsing.

There's no way it should be interfering with IGN or Steam. I have blocks enabled in my router and I have no issues accessing Steam, I don't go to IGN very often but it does work fine.

my wii u keeps disconnecting from the internet for me, i dont even have tubehax dns set.

i tried rebooting the console ,no luck , could someone help me with this?
