Damn, so it's confirmed that they fixed that? That's a real shame. At least it'll still work on 9.9 to 10.6

I still don't know what's different besides the browser version.

"The only actual code change with Old3DS/New3DS browser v10.7 was that the code which calculates the diff_timestamp was moved to immediately after the block which initializes <state_timestamp> when <state_timestamp> is all-zero. This fixed the browser-version-check bypass."

https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Internet_Browser#v10.7_2

Basically, they fixed a silly mistake they left in, which is what allowed it in the first place.

Well... I have none of those. And smashHax only works on the New3ds right? And whats the sysupdater, is it for downgrading?

You'll need one of the three exploits I mentioned to get homebrew on a 10.6 or 10.7 3ds. SmashHax only works on n3ds. Sysupdater can be used to downgrade to 9.2 for CFW, but it requires homebrew.

Also:
Yes sysupdater is used for downgrading. Just go to your nearest Gamestop and pick up OOT+Powersaves.

Alright, thanks. So, I guess I'll just have to wait and see if browserhax will work again. I dont really want to use my New 3ds because I want to play the games that come out.

Are you concerned about bricking it? Everything is very safe right now, and when you get everything set up, you'll be able to play games normally.

On your o3ds you can get it working for about 40 dollars using OOT3DS and a powersaves. I expect browserhax may work eventually, because it uses webkit which is extremely buggy, but that's just speculation.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
