My 3ds is kinda broken and can only charge if the wire is wrapped around it and the 3ds is on the floor and not touched with charging and I know its the charger port on the 3ds because my brother can charge his 3ds with no issue and I'm unsure on whether I should replace the charger port with a nodded USBc port and souder it in or buy a new 3ds and transfer the data so I can keep my pokemon save file from when I was a kid, I'm so nervous about soudering because I've never done it before but I also don't want to spends tons on a new 3ds just for it not to keep my old save file. Idk what to do and I recently got paid but I suppose its not like I'll lose an option within the time between closing what to do, ADVICE IS NEEDED 😥 I think soudering would have higher chances of keeping the files but it also has a higher risk of breaking my 3ds

If the 3DS is modded with CFW (custom firmware), you can back up save files with a homebrew save manager such as JKSV or Checkpoint, which will allow you to restore that save file on any other modded 3DS, independently of official system transfer procedures.
While the 3DS is still working and barely able to charge, you might want to consider modding it so you can safely decrypt and back up your save file onto the SD card. Although, if the battery in the 3DS is also worn out and holds very little charge, it's better to not attempt modding it, since an unexpected power-off caused by a failing battery during the modding process could brick the system.
Check out https://3ds.hacks.guide/ for guides on installing CFW.

I would strongly advise against trying to solder a new charging port if you've never soldered anything before. You'd definitely have to learn and practice soldering first, with something that's not critical and won't be a loss if you damage it during soldering. Don't try your first soldering on something that's important.
(De)soldering the 3DS charging port isn't an easy task, so you'd be taking a pretty big risk of damaging the 3DS further. If you mess up some connections, one of some tiny fuses might also blow on the 3DS motherboard, which is a very tiny part and you would probably need help from an experienced person at that point.
If you do attempt this, I would strongly advise that you do try to back up your important save files with a CFW save manager first, since you would be risking damaging the 3DS beyond repair.

If your brother has the exact same version of the 3DS as you, you could also swap the batteries between the two 3DSes, to charge both batteries using the working 3DS. But this would be very inconvenient and reset the clock every time, so this is really only a temporary solution if all else fails.

Also, there's a possibility that using a charging dock station will still be able to charge the 3DS flawlessly, since the charging docks use the golden contacts on the sides of the 3DS charger port, instead of the charging connector itself.

use an emulator. You're obviously way too young to be doing a USB C mod without fucking it up.
