Apple unofficial usb adapter advice?

I recently bought a 3rd party usb adapter for my ipad, but after a couple of warnings (a few minutes apart) about it not being supported, it stops working all together. Are there any 3rd party (as in cheap) usb adapters that do not suffer any 'unsupported device' problems? or will I have to shell out for an official camera connection kit?

Addition --

Is it normal that a USB keyboard would stop working after a second warning about being unsupported when using the official kamera kit? or is this a common problem no matter what USB adapter is being used?

Didn't iOS reduce the amount of power available to USB devices from the normal 500mAh to 300? Couldn't that be why it's not working?

No idea, but why would they let the device work for two warnings than cut it completely?

I'm not sure since I haven't tried myself, but perhaps it wasn't working properly, hence the warnings?
