The following is a snip from the dbug.log file from CFG loader.
IOS222 Base: 38 v5.1 (r65535)
IOS223 Base: 37 v5.1 (r65535)
IOS224 Base: 57 v5.1 (r65535)
IOS245 : not installed
IOS246 : not installed
IOS247 Base: ?? (r4)
IOS248 Base: ?? (r7)

IOS249 Base: 57 rev21 (r21)
IOS250 Base: 56 rev21 (r21)

I was wondering what the hell I have installed to slots 247 and 248. They may be leftover from years ago when I originally hacked my Wii.

Do you think they are safe to delete or overwrite?

It's certainly safe to delete or overwrite them.

If you want, you may try syscheck to do a scan of what that may be.

what guide did you use to mod your wii?...i know MauiFrog's guide incorporates 247 and 248 installs.... the r4/r7 may be a misidentification...

to my knowledge, the ease of changing slot designations didn't come until Wanin's cIOSv18 installer, and later, Modmii....so unless you really were advanced in the art of modding those 'years ago', my money is on a misidentification.

i too would be curious to see how a formal syscheck would identify them....

To be honest I can't remeber. It was years ago when I orginally did it and it has just been patched and updated since. I'll check out SYScheck.

Thanks

Now off to BBQ half a cow.

BBQ over....

I have left sysCheck running and it seems to be stuck on the Testing IOS vulnerabilities. The green bar has gone about 3/4 of the way across and appears to have stopped. Does this utility normally take forever?

It usually takes 1min or less for me.

Oh! looks like I have a corruption then. I will try to nuke the offending IOS with anytitle deleter.

Stay tuned for the next post titled "Crap! I've just bricked my Wii"

Edit: Just to check, I'm about to delete the following:

000000fe (IOS254) : IOS254
000000ca (IOS202) : IOS202
000000f8 (IOS248) : IOS248
000000f7 (IOS247) : IOS 247

Ok!

The good news: My wii is still alive.
The bad news: Anytitle deleter will not let me remove anything. It gives (ret = -106) and then (ret = -102) errors and fails to delete.

Anytitle deleter also gives (ret = -1017) and then (ret = -102) on opening.

i'm not too familiar with ATD, but if it's anything like MMM (which i use for these kinds of things), you need to be sure it's running on 236 (if you have it and assuming you are on HBC1.0.8/IOS58). ...or 222 should also work in your case (as 249/250 will not based on your OP)

...someone feel free to correct me if i'm out in left field here...

IOS254 is bootmii...i don't know if you want to delete that actually... i suggest you delete the other three, then run syscheck again...if it's still no good, then overwrite 254 with with a new 254 via the hackmii installer (install Bootmii as IOS)....

Thanks for your help. I used a newer version of anytitle deleter and ran it under 236. The 4 titles have been removed and now sysCheck runs through ok.

Unfortunatly we will never know what those titles where but at least the corruption has been removed and the Wii is still working.

Edit: I have re-installed bootmii ok.

Cheers
