Worst news yesterday.
Fix'd
But... that was posted yesterday.

It would be interesting to see whether it has a D1B chip or something like that

Nintendo need to wake up and smell the coffee. This WILL sooner or later get cracked, they should come up with a better solution. They can make future Wiis with modchips which support homebrews, and then ban all other modchips. Don't know if they can ban all other modchips though. Also they could add a SuperBrick? system

, where you can get your Wii bricked on many different occasions. E.g. Make all updates automatic, and put a check in the update/whenever the wii connects to internet for a modchip, and if present, brick the wii. Put that, along with the new 'unbrickable' Wii, and maybe games which will brick modded wiis when trying to play it, and VOILA! The cure for Wii-piracy. Also they should put something which unables modded wiis and/or pirated games to be played online, just like any PC game with online capabilities. Nintendo need to be SNEAKY!

Personally, the only reason i pirate PC games is because i can't buy them. In Egypt (where i come from), Halo 3 special edition costs (directly converted) about $150, and a WoW 60-day gamecard costs about $50. Seriously, Holy crap, i'm not gonna pay that much. If i had the money(or i made money), and they were available, i would buy ALL my games
They need to come up with a better solution then solving the problem? Everything will get cracked someday, so even better solutions.
They don't want to support homebrew cause they get a part of the money from the people who create software for the Wii, so if they also allow people to make software for the wii for free, why would developers pay Nintendo if everyone can make software for free also? And also, the homebrew also consists of emulators, which is also used for a form of piracy and as a competitor for VC stuff.
And they can't just ban modchips, cause they can't detect the modchips well enough.
Also why would they brick all modded Wii's, bricked Wii's don't play legit games either and it's probably not legal either.
Online Piracy prevention on the PC mostly goes by using the Serial Key and check if there are different persons with the same Serial Key online and then ban them. Consoles work without Serial Key's to make life easier. They shouldn't make things harder for legit players as well.
And why do you want Nintendo to do more against piracy if you're a pirate yourself again?

man thats crazy

Nintendo aren't stupid enough to think they can completely stamp out the modchip scene once and for all.

That doesn't mean they're going to completely abandon any and all attempts to hinder the modchip scene at every opportunity though.

Okay so nintendo FAIL

.

I'm a pirate because i'm 15, and i don't/can't make my own money (yet). And i have bought SOME games in the past, but that's b/c they were ancient (WC3 bought about 2 years ago, 3 years after it's release). But as i said, it's near-impossible to buy them here, due to them not being available (most games available here are pirated console games, and the original ones are only in Virgin. Their PC games are either crap (Dark Messiah) or ancient (Age of Empires II), so that's why i'm a pirate. Also if there was a game like battlefield, i would buy it, for the online experience etc, but here internet is amazinlgly slow (and expensive, $30 per month for 512Kbit/s internet i.e. downloads go at max 60kb/s.) I'm not pirating because i can, it's because i CAN'T get the original.

microsoft did the same with xbox 360 they are bringing out a new BnQ drive which cannot be flashed.
