when using this guide i can manage to create usb loader channels easily for PAL games on a PAL Wii.

but i've got guitar hero metallica which is NTSC, so i just went with the same process as before, but had to use a higher version of wiiscrubber to get the opening.brn as the older one couldnt open it.

it all goes fine, i give the wad the game ID NXBP (nintendo 64 rom with PAL region).

when i install it goes fine and the sound and image shows up, but when you press start it just says press any button to restart wii... whats with that?

i think it may be the region thing, but i've set preloader to enable region free channels so i dont know really

any help would be a big thank you

EDIT: my bad, i think i set the title ID of thev wad to NXBE instead of NXBP, i just re-did it and it works now

you have to put supported images in the sd:/wimages/ folder and it should work , and make download=0 as well

image extension? eg PNG, JPG? i'm sure it requires a certain extention, easy to fix if that is the problem

and thanks for that reply on page 7 MOE, i know what you mean, messing up the basics is the most annoying thing when you're managing higher level things XD its like you've missed something huge although its just a wrong letter used (like mine was

let your wbfs download the covers for you and then put it in the proper directory it's more successful that way

alway do your HDD testing with the original Waninkoko's Loader and cIOS36_ver10 , now after it runs there should have a better chance to run with any other modified Loader

The short tutorial still seem a bit vague. I'd love to try to use a USB loader, but I'm afraid I might make a stupid mistake that could be harmful to the Wii. I noticed a guide for USB loader 1.1 on the main page. Is that a good one to try? It looks like it could be an old version. Should I just wait for another guide with a newer/better USB loader?

Also, the game I'm hoping to run is Oboro Muramasa. It's a rather new game, so I'm afraid it may turn out to not work with one of the loaders.

hi buddy , can you post more info about your Wii Console and what exactly are trying to do , so I can have better directions for you to go through

Hi all,

I've just got my wii and luckily it's version 3.3e. I have already got my copy of Zelda so am gonna run the hack later.
I've been looking at the USBloader with great interest but there do seem to be so many versions of it.
Could someone with experience of using the variety , recommend a decent one? I'm wanting to run backups of wii/gc/wii ware and perhaps some homebrew if that makes any difference.
Finally, looking at the compatibility charts, the best one seems to be the WD passport essential, can anyone confirms that works hassle free?

Thanks a lot.

Well, I have a European Wii console. Upgraded it to 3.3E when I got it, and didn't know I couldn't have the latest version. So after some trouble, I got the homebrew channel installed and downgraded it to version 3.2E. I installed the Wad Manager 1.3, Wiigator Gamma (supposedly with 002 error fix... probably true. Installed a later version today and the burned Muramasa still got me the same error) and some WiiWare games. I also put Starfall on it, and removed the region lock and auto-updating.

No idea which cIOS I currently have installed. It was a few months ago (early January), and I followed the stickied guides from this site. I've put the cIOS36_rev10-Installer on my SD card, but I've not installed it yet. It's recommended for Waninkoko's USBloader in the opening post, but I've not done anything with it yet, in case I may need something else instead.

That basically sums up my Wii. I hope you can help me further with that info. Hell, a simple redirection to someone's directions would even be enough.

ok go ahead and install cIOS_rev10 and setup Waninkoko USB Loader in the App folder , then follow the tutorial from my signature to get HDD Prepared to use with it and try it out , once all work fine you can try any other modded Loaders and it should work just stick to the basics for now
QUOTE(Zalda @ Apr 21 2009, 09:39 PM)
is there a wad for the V7.4 (based on waninkokos 1.5 Loader) ?
just use the forwarder channel by nIxx from the first page
wink.gif

I'd like a wad of 7.4 as well...

I tried one forwarder and it failed hard.
Will try another tonight, plus the one by nIxx if that fails too.

But I'd really like a true wad file for it (or to at least figure out how to make one myself - I tried injecting the .dol for the loader into another loader's working wad, and the resulting wad was full of fail).

Edit: What forwarder channel by nIxx are you referring to?
The link that says "Click Here To Download nIxx's version for WAD Channel (the Forwarder)" points to USBLoaderModNixx.rar, which has source code, SourceforWAD.dol, SourceforWAD.elf, SourceHBC.dol, and SourceHBC.elf . I assume I have to build the .wad from the .dol / .elf ...

I'll try the forwarder that comes packed with the v7 loader and point it at the 7.4 loader.

there a couple of forwarders channels around the forum if you don't wanna compile this one yourself
wink.gif
there is one that was made by Kedest Click Here Please and just put the USB Loader Dol in the Directory ( SD:\Apps\USBLoader\ ) and it have the nunchuk error fix as well , enjoy
wink.gif

Excellent ! thanks ! great research and well put together...I was able to download the USB loader 1.4, but fail to see how to make my ocarina codes to work... what folder should I put my codes? I does not see to recognize the default [Root]\codes\ please advice a newbie learning
