Hi assassda, I have another question about this.

The last time I messed with my Wii I downgraded to 3.2u, then installed cIOS36rev7, then DVDx (for IOS 249), then WadManager 1.3 to install Backup Loader 0.3... Everything works except original games like (GHTW) asking to update.

The big question is, should i still do the downgrade to 3.2 if I'm already on 3.2u ??? It was kind of scary the first time (did the network version)...

Also I have never used Preloader so I have no clue about what is Hacks.ini and where to put it or get it... is preloader always running from the SD after being installed? where or how do you put that hacks.ini file??

apreciate your help a lot.

I already installed 4.0. Preloader, cIOS rev10, everything except cIOScorp. Would it be safe to install cIOScorp on 4.0 after I installed Preloader for the first time in 4.0 or is it too late?

I recommend not skipping any steps just to avoid problems. there is almost no risk to using cIOS downgrader unless you turn off the wii in the middle of installation.

hacks.ini goes on the SD card, preloader is installed to the wii and runs every time you power on. its a good way to protect your wii from bricks in case the system menu is broken and it blocks updates on discs.

Alright, I updated to 4.0. On 3.2 I installed cIOS rev10, IOS60 Trucha Patched, custom MIOS, and Waninkoko's 4.0 Updater. On 4.0 I installed Preloader 0.29. Now then, is it too late to install cIOScorp?

2yugimoto,

Did you get this screen after you ran the batch file "prepare.bat"?

Instructions.jpg

Read the instructions on this screen carefully.

At this point, in the folder where the "prepare.bat" resides, there should be another folder named "sd". Click on that folder, mark everything and copy all of the marked items (files and folders) to the ROOT of your sd card. After you're done copying to the sd card, everything that you've created on your PC can be deleted.

When in the WadManager, pressing the Wii remote's "Home" button will restart.

Offline downgrade/upgrading problem step 7

ok i just got on step 7 on the offline downgrading guide

and i installed ciosv9.wad but it fails error 211 , so i tried it again and got the same error again!
then i press the home butten on the wiimote and it says loading home and freezes (or does it need more then 5 min?)

Am i supposed to let it fail?
and was i wrong to retry it?
and i dont have cios36-rev10-installer in my homebrew channal

(i put every thing in my sd folder to the root of my sd card)

Oh and Is it dangerous to unplug ur wii after the thing finnished installing? (i do that instead of restarting)

I have no idea why thats happening. try running through the guide once more and formatting your sd card

please keep your font normal size and be patient for a response. dont double post or bump the thread
if ciosv9.wad wont install then you need to start from step 1 of the guide
you have to restart after each wad you install untill you get to the 18 IOS files
sorry bout that cios-rev10 line its not a needed step i removed it now
i wouldnt recommend unplugging the wii. if the wii is frozen hold the power button for 5 seconds

the online method has steps in the first post
the offline method shows the steps in command prompt
all files are included except cioscorp which is optional

While trying to install this upgrade I had an issues that others posted here. When installing I got a ret -2011 error. I did a lot of searching and reading and I finally solved this by downgrading using this method:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=146735

After this I started over from the beginning of the tutorial with complete sucess. I have System Menu 4 installed AND more importantly to me, I can again run trucha signed games. I love the guitar hero compilations!

I do not have any VC/WW games to try on the SD card, so I cannot say if that works or not. But give this method a try if you are stuck.

Thnak you to all who programmed these files, gathered the info, and wrote tutorials for us to use!
