I looked into the batch file that you created (the Offline Upgrade method) to grab the titles from big N's server uses WB3000's NUS Downloader. I believe that the batch file runs the GUI and then you ask the user to enter the titleIDs and titleVersions. I've just created a command line version of WB3000's tool that could help automate the process of creating wads from the titles to required in that batch file.

I can't play unofficial wads on the SD card menu. Did I do something wrong? Or can't everybody play unofficial wads on it?

I can play. There's something wrong. I think IOS60 has to be patched in order to play. This means that there was something wrong during the upgrade process.

dude im not sure how to install this first i opend the prepare file on windows and got to a thing were i got to put my region
so i put the region and firmware i want 289 (3.2U) and then for the tittle i wrote

for the title then i started the sequence and it made files on my SD card.

im wandering if i did it right and what is the next step to take and im vary causious about bricking

Patch IOS60. I think you missed step 6 on the first page:

6) Run the IOS60 updater
say NO to install IOS61
say YES to install IOS60
say YES to patch IOS60
say NO to install the shop channel

If you DID do this, maybe you just messed up on "say YES to patch IOS60".

You can also put this BEFORE step 5, running it before Waninkoko's 4.0 Updater. If you do, Waninkoko's updater will leave it alone. Guess it doesn't matter too much.

Yes just put hacks.ini at the root

seems right, use the wad.sfv and 289.sfv in the wad directory to verify the files

I would suggest using Firmware downgrader 1.1. I I used it to downgrade from 4.0 to 3.2 then I decided to go back to 4.0 again. Works like a charm and no problem whatsoever.

Firmware downgrader doesnt downgrade your IOS files to a trucha bugged state and im not a big fan of it

Offline installation file preparation is now comletely automated thanks to wiiNinja's command line version of nusd

I highly recommend using the offline version, the steps are very simple

This is the ULTIMATE Tutorial for everything you need for System Menu 4.0


There are now two methods described in this guide. Online and completely Offline installations. The Online installation is the safer method but the Offline method will work on ANY Wii that has the homebrew channel even without cIOS.


Online Downgrade/Upgrade

Prerequisites:
--Homebrew Channel Installed
--SD card
--Wifi Connection (Ethernet doesnt work)
--cIOS installed or system menu 3.4 or lower
--Read the FAQ and be prepared with a general knowledge of Wii Homebrew

1) Install cIOS36 rev10 using Network install mode

Just run prepare.bat and follow the instructions and make sure you do not have a cioscorp folder on your sd card

1) Put WAD Manager 1.3 on your sd card

3) Install CIOS60BF.wad

google "CIOS60HK.zip"

4) Your system menu will now say "System Files Corrupt" but dont worry! just hold reset and launch the Homebrew Channel and install Preloader 0.29 AGAIN

5) Enable update blocker in preloader. Hold RESET and power on. Change preloader options and hacks


Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do with these files?

Extract them with WinRAR and rename the .DOL file to "boot.dol" and put them in "X:/apps/appname/boot.dol"

Are you sure each step is required / in the right order?

Yes Ive done this multiple times just follow the order.

A step didnt work, can I go on?

Again, NO. Especially do not upgrade to 4.0 without installing cIOS or you can not install it!

Is my console BRICKED!?

If you have preloader then you are fine. Turn your Wii OFF to the RED light and then hold RESET and turn it on then load the HBC
If you have cIOS installed run cIOS Downgrader
If you dont have cIOS installed use the Offline Downgrade method

Will this work with Softmii? MiiWii? etc

Theres no need to uninstall anything first. You can install CIOSCORP on 4.0 using this guide and it functions like Softmii or MiiWii

Will this work with Starfall? Preloader 0.28?

No. You MUST use Preloader 0.29. Starfall hacks wont work. Use the latest preloader hacks.ini

Do original discs work with/without CIOSCORP?

Yes. CIOSCORP and CIOS60 only affect Backup Discs

How do I fix the error when installing preloader "current IOS(36) has the fakesign bug fixed"?

Install "IOS36-64-v1042.wad" which can be found on a disc or using the Offline Pack

How do I uninstall preloader?

Downgrade with cIOS Downgrader and run Waninkokos Updater again

How do I downgrade from 4.0 without cIOS?

Use the Offline Downgrade/Upgrade pack

I read this tutorial more than twice just to make sure I had everything it was required.
I followed step by step and I got everything installed.
But now when I turn my wii I can go to the wii channels menu anymore, I changed the options and the preolader to boot up to the wii menu but nothing I get a black screen.
I can go to preolader or hbc but not the wii menu.
Please help.

so what happen is this my 8 yr old formated my wii befor the softmii 2.9.5 update.the format bricked me
preloader saved me couldnt load hbc though the preloader menu but it loaded the dol on the
memorycard so i installed iti used arc to fix the system menu. after i got the system menu back to normal,
i installed softmii2.9.5 and updated to 4.0 and preloader.29thats when i noted only a handfull of games worked
so i downgraded my wii back to 3.2u(set up below).to fix it i went to softmii for help andpuma(i dont even know who this guy is)
starts acting like a dick (a verry little dick) im not flaming softmii.org i got love for skar,diggty,icefire,clarkii
but if some one come to you for help its only right you help(if its your software or you know how to fix the problem).

all these run on diffrent ios so i cant
why other games are giving me 2 dvd read errors, 324 and 349 i think is the other error
now ive uninstalled and reinstalled iso 249

Please turn the bold face OFF. This equates to yelling at everyone reading your post.

The offline line packed is to be run using a Windows machine, which produces a directory structure with files in it. You copy the whole directory structure to your SD card.

1. does this leave the "auto-update the system without asking you" intact?
if so i assume that the preloader get rid of that successfully?

2. spotted "Firmware-Downgrader_v1.11" on waninkoko's site, does this come into play anywhere?
ie i cant figure what the dif is between a ios downgrader, the cios and this. lame i know...

Please keep posts short and on topic Softmii is not supported in this thread. Since youre not running 4.0 you obviously didnt follow this guide and shouldnt be posting here. There are many reasons games may not work, your best bet is to run through this entire guide to make sure 4.0 and CIOSCORP are installed correctly. Try launching games through Gamma Loader they may not all work in the disc channel. If they still dont work after running this guide again they may be bad discs or they may need to be patched before burning.

Try starting from the beginning of the guide. Run IOS Downgrader and then cIOS Downgrader and see if you can get 3.2 running again. if it works continue with the steps

IOS61 contains the new shop and is installed during the 4.0 Upgrader process

1. the wii will always ask you before installing an update so dont worry about that. if you are paranoid about nintendo you can always turn off wiiconnect24
2. this guide does not use Firmware-Downgrader and it is not needed or recommended here


I answer these questions as fast as I can, Im not interested in Softmii drama and making your font bigger will not get a faster response.
