Hacking PS1/2 uLaunchELF kHn freezes copying certain files

I made backups of several Sega CD games (to play using PGEN) in the .bin/.cue format, but uLaunchELF freezes almost as it's finished copying any of the first .bin files. Does anyone know why this may be? I've never had this issue when copying .VCD or art files.

I checked that my HDD has enough space and that isn't the issue. I'm trying to copy through mass storage (since I can never get FTP working) on LaunchELF v4.42e_HDD_kHn.
