Hi all, I'm thinking of buying a DSTT card and have been doing some research on it and the more I read the more confused I am >_

Would an original R4 be too expensive for you? Some sites which are taboo here due to spambots have them for $3.

nope i can get it at the same price as the DSTT. I thought R4 is outdated?? I know there's the R4 Wood (dunno too much about it though) but is that just a firmware update for the R4 or is that a newer released flash card for the R4?

Wood is new firmware, but it's getting updates and lets it play new games. The R4 is still limited to the DS/Lite and can only use microSD 2GB and below, though.

hmm i wanna use at least 4gb microSD to store my games etc, so should I stick with the DSTT then?

I mainly care about playing more recent games like Golden Sun Dark Dawn etc.

I don't know why you said the original R4 is expensive , it just cost $3.19 on Lightake

STAY AWAY FROM DSTT!
It's terrible for people having to wait for unofficial game updates.
I suggest Acekard, SupercardDStwo if you're willing to pay that much.
But NOT DSTT

dw guys i got it sorted, a friend of mine lend me his R4 Revolution and I installed the R4 Wood 1.9.1 kernel on the memory card and have been playing Golden Sun Dark Dawn for 3+ hours and no problem so far!

And some of u didn't read, I only wante to buy DSTT because that's what it sells in my local website, either that or the other ones are too expensive for me. Sure it might be cheap from some websites but after converting the currency to NZD, it'll be expensive for me, as well as adding the shipping cost too. I'd rather just buy it from my local website which I know is safe (Trademe) because it's made for New Zealanders, kinda like how NewEggs is mainly for USA for buying computer parts. Plus, it's faster for me to buy it locally anyway.


But anyway I didn't end up spending any money at all which is good, but thanks anyway.
