Some guy said on GameFAQs that to even start a file in Pokemon HGSS, you actually need to sync the game with the PokeWalker... meaning no walker, no HGSS!
He claims it's just a rumor from /v/, but it does seem like something Ninty would do to **** with us.

    read the messages bellow

was found on /v/ so its just chatter

    Nintendo wouldn't do it anyway

how many messages would they get from parents "my kid dropped it and it dont work and now he cant play game"

they thought of it but most like thought of the Moaning parents and people keeping them in pockets and then they fall in toilet (it happens to everyone)

    people wouldnt buy it

and if they did its just a few lines of code to remove from rom

like the final fantasy game that when emulated after 10min said "thx for playing"

Nintendo wouldn't do it to the fans

there would just be too much hassle over them getting lost or breaking

its just un-reasonable to make the game un-playable due to the lack of the pedometer

They might sell an external pokewalker if its true. I don't really see a major problem.

He said to start the file, not every time you boot the game...
So most people shouldn't have a problem since you probably haven't broken anything right after buying the game.

There's an incredibly large difference between a console and a relatively unimportant add-on, that's why. Regardless of whether or not it would be Nintendo's fault, it would still cause an eventual shit-storm of angry parents because of clumsy children.

    Strawman, seriously.

Are you kidding me? People would definitely buy it. Nintendo could release a game called "Pokemon Chode" and make it the exact same thing as pokemon platinum and heart metal, except with 21 new monsters who are all shaped like various dildos, and charge 39.99 for it, and it will sell millions. To 4 year olds and 30 year olds alike. This pokewalker thing, if anything, will entice more people to buy it for the stupid gizmo.

So you're going to trust some fuckbag on GameFaqs for your HG/SS info? You're real fucking smart.

STOP. MAKING. FUCKING. STUPID. HG/SS. RUMOR. THREADS.

I swear to fucking God, any stupid ass fuckhead of a noob who makes another useless thread about some halfassed rumor some random fucktard says about HG/SS deserves a permanent ban. This is more stupid beyond belief.

Exactly. Incidentally you have also solved the baffling 'Guitar Hero success' conundrum.

OK, a little off topic here. How is Guitar Hero so successful? The game sucked IMO. I realize the grip was a craze but seriously. The quality sucked too much for my tastes.

    Hah, no valid sources.

Oh, and even if this is true, all I need is someones save where they are past that point. Problem freaking solved!

Also, why would I believe anything from Gamefaqs. Even though I have had my account there for a few years, nothing at all is believable from Gamefaqs.

Wow, I didn't realize a forum could impact someone's life so much. I've seen this guy do this a lot. Just ignore it.
I agree people should stop, but don't die over it.

I find it fitting. The person made a topic over a rumor originating from 4chan of all places, and then posted on GameHax. The idiot should know better.

Still no reason to go into rage mode. He should be used to this kind of thing since something of the sort happens all the time for a hyped game. Just chill
