Homebrew Sonic CD and Sonic Mania Are Being Ported to Sega Saturn and 32X

The Saturn and 32X surely will have no problem running Sonic CD, but Mania?
That's what makes the concept of a Mania port so interesting. It's definitely too much of a game for the Genesis, but I could potentially see it working on the 32X with some choice changes (compromises) to eliminate effects it can't handle. And, of course, it's running at a lower resolution.

Though by the same token I doubt they're decompiling Mania or the like. They're going to have to remake it for the 32X, and then port that to the Saturn. (This being the advantage of both platforms using SH-2 processors)

I am not sure I see the point of porting Sonic CD to the 32X though. The Sega CD version is the baseline; porting it to the 32X means that you're either changing nothing, or adding features/effects that weren't in the original.

It's the better option given that the Dreamcast port, which is based on the recompilation project, has got some issues related to hardware limitations. That's what I remember anyway.

That would be the first Sonic game with Sonic himself on that console, since the only released game (Knuckles' Chaotix) didn't even have him in!
