    I have a feeling development will go something like this:

    NGP => 3DS => iPhone/Xperia Play => All other android

    Course when you think about it, it wont be long before Apple announce a new iPhone system that can run games on 3DS or sub par NGP level...

    NGP =>iPhone/3DS => Everything else

    Not really, when you look at how development went for the DS and PSP in the start of their life cycles it was pretty similar. The PSP would always get watered down ports of PS2 games, while the DS would get even more watered down ports of those games. Or we could go to the very launch of the DS and see that gameloft were cashing in like crazy with ports of their MOBILE software. Asphalt Urban GT, or Sprung...anyone?

    We know the NGP is far more powerful to the 3DS and looking at how Ubisoft are notorious at porting games, especially Prince of Persia and Assassins Creed, it's fair to say that they'll port over PS3 versions of their games to the NGP, then water them down to the 3DS. I could be wrong here though, and I hope I am, because god knows who wants to play 3 similar versions of Assassin's creed across three different game markets... [IMG]

    I'm pretty sure the price of the NGP will keep people away from it from the first few weeks.

    NGP is a niche system and dev costs are pretty high. I don't see any dev making it their primary system. So dev will probably work something like this...

    3DS>Certain Smart Phones

    NGP>PSN>Certain Smart Phones

    It doesn't surprise me that a company will put full support into the new handhelds. At least for a while, those systems will be piracy free and they'll know that whatever sales the games make are not tainted by piracy and can get a truer idea of a game's reception.

    yes^^, esp since ubi are probably the most active when it comes to combating piracy... but i think they have laid off after seeing the results of AC2 for the pc
    no matter what they say, games on the NGP and 3DS (i mean real gaming handhelds) tend to be much more fun and better than on the iphone or other tablets eg. AC 1 and 2 for the iphone/DS

    Actually if the NGP has the graphical capability sony claims it will and the rumored price of $250-300 and considering at how easy sony is claiming it will be to port/dev for it since its like the PS3, then I dont see why it wont be rated higher on the list when games are being created...If a multi-platform game is being made for PS3/XBOX/WII as well as the 3DS and NGP I see no reason why the dev wouldn't just port over the PS3 version to the NGP.

    Imagine games are made by Ubisoft. I expect them to make their shovelware games and just port them to the mobiles, just for the quick cash.
