Hello, newly downgraded users! Many have been wondering exactly why CFW won't work on their newly downgraded System. The solution is that you need to find payloads that support *hax2.5, as *hax 2.5 does not have official payloads ready for it as far as I know.

IF YOU HAVE YET TO DOWNGRADE, HERE IS THE THREAD FOR THAT:

http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-the-simple-guide-to-downgrading-your-3ds.407888/

STEPS:

1)As soon as you downgrade, insert gateway's 3dsx loader into your "3ds" folder.
2)Back up your SD card, save it onto your computer, and load up Gateway Launcher from browserhax (if you don't have Cubic Ninja or OoT3D) and backup your NAND.
3)After it's done, place that somewhere safe onto your computer, then relaunch Gateway Launcher and
4)Format emuNAND. After this, your SD card will be fully wiped with an emunand hidden away inside it.
5)Place your SD card into your computer and put your SD card backup into it.
6)Next you will need to find a CFW configured for *hax 2.5. @Columbo2811 found these for me for you all to use.
These are just the *hax 2.5 homebrew launcher files so you will need to go to their respective threads to get their tutorial and other files.

That means you don't have the right Firmware.bin
Download Reinand, and in the "Rei" folder, there will be a Firmware.bin. Rename that to 0004013820000002.bin and input that into the DATA folder in RXtools.

This is the exact same as any other tutorial for CFW on 9.2 basically.
Good to have it all in one spot but there's nothing different for a downgraded 9.2 than from a "regular" 9.2 that you can't do with the current tutorials.

Granted, the other tutorials weren't for the updated *hax 2.5 payloads. This is simply a compilation of all the necessary things to get it running.

Any remarkable difference between O3DS and N3DS?
RXTOOLS is much more trucker to pull of on N3DS since support for it is really on and off. Other than that, the regular guide for RXTOOLS should be fine for O3DS users.

This covers loading through *hax regardless of entry point.

There is no reason for anyone to use PastaCFW anymore at this point, and if someone's gonna be using Cakes or Reinand over rxTools they probably already know where to find all that stuff. :P
Dang, never saw that thread. Well this is here because there are other stuff like tools and to help downgraded noobs. Literally dozens of new downgraders have no idea how to set up CFW with *hax 2.5 as that's all they have.

I'm ashamed to admit I'm stuck on step one. I put Launcher.dat on the root of my SD card, I put the gw.3dsx on my 3ds folder. I use Themehax to enter the HBL, load up gw.3dsx... and I get black screens. I have OoT, but since I can't access the Gateway menu, it's as good as if I didn't have it...

How can we unlink our Nands?

Go to system settings (on SysNAND) and before you Format, take the SD card out of the system. After the 3DS reboots, stick the SD back in. Now you have two folders (random numbers & letters) in your Nintendo folder. Take note of which one is smaller in size, that's your SysNAND.

I'm also having this problem on step 1

I'm not sure what the problem is. The directory should look like this:

Yeah. Everything's in the right place, I think. Launcher.dat is on the root and those files are on the correct folder. I boot up the .3dsx and nothing happens.

Should I just go with Emunand9Tool? I can make that work without any issues.

That should work as well. :)
