Will turning off "software updates" stop the switch from updating the firmware? If not should we disconnect from wifi, for possible hacks?

day 1 unit here not connected to any internet + in airplane mode.
I will keep it on 1.0.0 till something good goes on.

Yep. Actually it's nice that someone stays on 1.0.0 all the time, and dump that ancent firmware incase it has been hacked.
Like it would be cool to have an extra 3DS on 1.0.0 just for kicks :P

Just so you know the switch will update before you go online.
So if you plan on getting mario kart and playing with your friends your have to update.
Keeping the switch 100% off line and never play games with other will stop all updates. Since updates can be sent to you via another switch system.

And there is no hacks for the switch as of today. Everything that has been release so far is basic crap. Its just getting into the web browser

If you wanted you could block the update servers.
I found these when going into the update section on the Switch.

receive-lp1.dg.srv.nintendo.net
sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net

When I redirected them to google they gave me a error saying.
Unable to communicate with the server.
So looks like I blocked the update servers or at least it checking :P
