I bought an 8BitDo Pro 2 when they were released. it ticked all the boxes for the criteria I had set. I wanted something that among other things could work with as many devices as possible. And have the option to map buttons to rapid fire. It worked really well. I used it on everything from my TV to my Quest 2. Recently for the first time used it with my switch. No rapid fire. I'm assuming Nintendo somehow leaned on 8BitDo to nerf that function. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. It doesn't sound outlandish to me considering who I'm talking about. Is this something that can be done on a modded switch? Thanks in advance for any help.

I gave it a Google and it says below that you need to setup the Turbo function via the Ultimate Software:

I've used plenty of turbo controllers on the Switch before so I assume there won't be any issue once you've sorted that.

Yes, you have to map a button to toggle turbo on and off. I usually map the star button as it's rare to need to take a screenshot or video.

I know u guys are trying to help. I know about using the Ultimate app. I use it daily. For 2 years. The pro 2 has the ability to set any button to turbo using a cell phone almost while playing a game live on any system. You pause the game, run the app on the phone. it connects to the controller. You make your changes and then it connects to your game. It works with my phone, PC's, laptop, tablets. quest 2, a couple different raspberry pies, and two smart TV's, I cannot recreate the problem on any of them.

Maybe lay it out step by step. You seem to be doing it differently than we do.
I use the PC app, set the star button to "T".
In game I then hold the button I want to turn turbo on and press star. Viola, auto fire. All my 8BitDo controllers have worked this way.

After updating the controllers firmware it is finally working on my Switch. Thanks for the help, guys. In an indirect way it let me to the fix. I turned 50 on the 4th, and just to rub it in life dealt me an unexpected permanent disability. I no longer have the motor control in my hands to press buttons repeatedly fast enough. Been a gamer my entire life. Wasn't about to give that shit up. Hats off to ya!
